Born and raised in New Hampshire, Jason followed his state motto of "Live Free or Die." Shortly after starting his sophomore year in high school, Jason grew an appreciation for a broad range of musical styles. This is what compelled him to pick up a guitar and never put it back down. Not satisfied with merely mimicking the sounds of the songs he loved, he began writing his own. 

Shortly after high school, Jason played in some very successful, original bands that helped him learn many different styles of music, all the while honing his understanding of music theory. Jason then left NH and traveled nationally for a number of years. Along the way, he met and played with various musicians, young and old, and learned their take on music. Eventually, he made his way to Joplin, Missouri, the place he now calls home. Using his wisdom from the road and current life experiences as inspiration, his song writing style is a testament to his broad range and respect for all forms of music. 

In 2014, Jason released a self-titled album that showcases his writing style and love of music in 10 original songs. He has made the lyrics for all these songs available on his website: www.jasonkinneyband.com. He continuously writes, practices, and hones his craft for all to enjoy.
