Here is a song I sang at Crossroads Church in Dec of 2008. It is a fairly hard song to sing, plus I have NO falsetto. So I arranged it so that I could duck those parts and have Suzi Morgan take those over. I fumbled the lyrics on this slightly, and wish I could do it again. But I have been told by many that they love the performance. Suzi Morgan NAILED her parts and totally makes the song. Be sure to check out the original artist "downhere". The lead singer Marc Martel is an unbelievable singer.

Here is a song by Third Day that i have always loved and wanted to believe in. I'm finally at the place in my life where every word of it is real and true. I'm now fully realized in a love that I thought was just a cliche fantasy. I've finally found the the one whom I've been waiting for. Life is good. God is good! All the time.



This is a Karaoke track purchased from iTunes by the artist "Praise Hymn Tracks" and it's the version without backing vocals. I did this in one take using Logic Pro and the "Bright Vocal" track setting. I added a high harmony for the bridge but I could have added tons more throughout the song. I wanted to keep it simple and resisted the urge to tweak it to death (even though it could probably use a little).

I was still trying to find my "voice" when I recorded this. Very heavy on the King's X influence too. I'm not sure why this one appeals to me, but I like the vocals on this one. I regret saying "Ah-HAAAAAA" at the trail of each "air", but instead should have just did trailing "Ah's". Rookie mistake. The song is about "perseverance" basically. A "you can do it" type theme.

This is a very "Cheap Trick" inspired song about love. Considered one of my best songs by "my peeps" FWIW. Lol. I enjoyed doing the harmonies, that's for sure. I do like this one quite a bit I guess. I'm not my biggest fan though. lol.

I was thinking Alice in Chains for this one I guess. I really like my vocal performance on this one and the backwards solo. Dropped-D, which is very typical for me (thanks King's X!). And hey... a song about alcoholism (and not about me).

Another demo idea given to Jimmie Bruhn to listen to... and it was returned to me with like 24 tracks of vocals and bass guitar. Good luck telling who's singing what on the bvox. He made this song basically impossible to duplicate without hiring Roy Thomas Baker, so I never bothered. It is what it is! The song is about a "strained friendship" that I felt was sorta changing with age. Turns out... I was wrong. lol. But it felt good getting it out there, and the person has no clue it was about them. The guitar on this song was done with a 1958 Gibson ES-125 that I had borrowed (and didn't want to give back!).

This was the very last song that I squeezed out before my first child was born. Essentially, it's about "someone who was really tired and in pain, and ready to be done with whatever was causing it". This song is a "hang in there, it's almost over with (thank god)".

A very King's X inspired song about what people who are dying might think... as they await their final moments. "Is there really a light that I'm going to see?"

This was the first full song I recorded on my Tascam 488 8-Track cassette recorder and it was quite ambitious in hindsight. Lots of vocals going on and strange capo'd guitar parts. Honestly, I was watching a football game and there was a huge tackle. The announcer said, "Well I guess sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug!" and i thought it was clever. Alanis Morrisette had a popular song called "Ironic" at the time, and this was my attempt at trying to cop that sort of thinking.
