Fifth Mehla:

ਭਲਕੇ ਉਠਿ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਵਉ ॥
ਜੇ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ) ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਆਵੇ,
I rise up in the early morning hours, and the Holy Guest comes into my home.

ਪਾਉ ਪਖਾਲਾ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਵਉ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਵਾਂ; ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗੇ ।
I wash His feet; He is always pleasing to my mind and body.

ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵਉ ॥
ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਨਿੱਤ) ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣੇ, ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖੇ ।
I hear the Naam, and I gather in the Naam; I am lovingly attuned to the Naam.

ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਘਰ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਮੈਂ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਵਾਂ ।
My home and wealth are totally sanctified as I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੨॥
(ਪਰ,) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅਜੇਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
The Trader in the Lord's Name, O Nanak, is found by great good fortune. ||2||

I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. By the Pleasure of Your Will, You have blessed me with the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.

In their hearts, they meditate on the lotus feet of God; they do not forget Him, even for an instant.

Taj Maan Moh Bikaar Man Ka, Kalmalaa Dukh Jaare
They renounce their pride, emotional attachment and mental corruption, and burn away the dark pain of wickedness.

Binvant Naanak Sadaa Jaage Har Daas Sant Pyaare
Prays Nanak, like the Saints, let this servants of you also remain ever wakeful.

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ 
Pauree:

ਸਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਨੇ ॥ 
Fruitful and rewarding is that service, which is pleasing to the Guru's Mind.

ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਸੰਮਲ ਭੰਨੇ ॥ 
When the Mind of the True Guru is pleased, then sins and misdeeds run away.

ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਜਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੋ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਸਿਖੀ ਕੰਨੇ ॥ 
The Sikhs listen to the Teachings imparted by the True Guru.

ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਚੜੀ ਚਵਗਣਿ ਵੰਨੇ ॥ 
Those who surrender to the True Guru's Will are imbued with the four-fold Love of the Lord.

ਇਹ ਚਾਲ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਭਿੰਨੇ ॥੨੫॥
This is the unique and distinct life-style of the Gurmukhs: listening to the Guru's Teachings, their minds blossom forth. ||25||

The sword chops well, chops the forces of fools and this mighty one bedecks and glorifies the battlefield.

ਭੁਜ ਦੰਡ ਅਖੰਡੰ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡੰ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਮੰਡੰ ਭਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥
It is the unbreakable staff of the arm, it has the powerful luster and its light even bedims the radiance of the sum.

ਸੁਖ ਸੰਤਾ ਕਰਣੰ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦਰਣੰ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਹਰਣੰ ਅਸਿ ਸਰਣੰ ॥
It brings happiness to the saints, mashing the vicious ones, it is the destroyer of sins and I and under its refuge.

ਜੈ ਜੈ ਜਗ ਕਾਰਣ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਬਾਰਣ ਮਮ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਣ ਜੈ ਤੇਗੰ ॥੨॥
Hail, hail to the cause of the world, saviour of the universe, it is my preserver, I hail its victory. 2.
