"I recorded this mix last fall at a really low point. I needed to feel heat in my body and to try to transform my frustrations into something positive through the music. The set starts fully ecstatic and hectic with lots of deck fussin' and cuts, but it settles into what I jokingly call the "Spa Eris" sound. In like a lion and out like a lamb my Mom used to say. I wanted to end gently, not just 'cause I figured we all needed it, but also out of respect for the other players and programming that day, which was sprawling and magical."

PREMIERE: Debba - Echo [Circular Jaw]

After losing my Dad and a cousin suddenly in 2018, and having to put
down my dog of 15 years, I fell into a deep depression. I wasn't
mixing much and I was drinking heavily. I know now that this was me
not-dealing with my grief. I started writing this mix in Nov/Dec last
year and recorded it January 12th 2020. I don't normally write a mix
in advance, but the whole process slowly lifted the emotional weight
holding me down - this is my healing. Playing the records at the wrong speed hopes to portray the confusion and fog of the last 2 years, as well as sounding gorgeous.
