Continuing to pioneer the rocktronic genre, the New York-based trio SadBois are bringing their unique pop punk influences to EDM on their new single ‘Next Life.’ Featuring passionate duet vocals by Sam Varga & Natalia Taylar, the song flawlessly fuses the different genres and emotions, transforming the angsty theme into something uplifting by the upbeat instrumental. The single continues to cement SadBois as one of the most exciting upcoming acts on the melodic bass music scene in the US.

SadBois share their thoughts on the process: “Next Life started with us shooting our shot for a remix for a big pop rock name. While unfortunately, the opportunity didn’t land, in a twist of fate, the song truly came to life and embraced its true potential, no longer shackled, the song blossomed into something beautiful through the perspective and story from Sam and Natalia.”

Sam continues: “I received the track from SadBois that I let sit in my DM’s for about two weeks over Christmas. When I finally listened to it in the car I think I wrote 50% of the lyrics in 10 minutes before I got home. I had a feeling about it and made Spencer Jordan come over that week and we constructed the rest of the song. I knew pretty early on we were writing a duet, but figured I’d shoot that shot to the band once we had the vocal on it, and from the get-go, Natalia Taylar was the obvious choice for me.

I wanted to represent both sides of a breakup in one track and have the two of them go at it from their own sides, eventually arriving at the same place. It’s about the bitterness and anger stage of a breakup after you’ve tried everything. What SadBois did was so explosive and emotional the song just fell out. They’ve been some of the best collaborators I’ve ever gotten to work with and I love the story and community of this song.”

Biography:
Renald Joseph Benedicto, a musician, songwriter, and producer of electronic music located in Toronto, started out as jav3x (jaah-vecks) in the early 2010s. He spent most of his adolescence learning how to play piano and guitar, until he began producing music in 2011. After a decade-long tenure in the progressive house sub-genre, jav3x has transformed into his current sound, Pop EDM. 

Since, jav3x has secured official remixes for Mokita ’s sleepwalking (sleepwalking - jav3x remix) and Carla Morrison ’s Encontrarme (Encontrarme - jav3x Remix), amassing over 1.5 million plays in the process. He then worked on Can't Forget, his collaboration with GhostDragon and Daye, which had been released on Wave Music's label: Paradise Music. The track has been featured on Spotify’s Pixel Garden editorial playlist amongst powerhouse artists such as Porter Robinson and Skrillex. After experiencing great success, jav3x and Daye went on to collaborate again on Something's Different, bridging pop ballads and electronic dance music together.

He then produced two originals, Finding Hope and Want Me or Not with Lexi Scatena, proving that his signature sound had now been cemented through strength and emotion. 

jav3x is hosting his debut live concert in Toronto on November 30th at the Revival Bar and Lounge. With performances by Lexi Scatena and Celestial, an EDM DJ based in Toronto, he is evolving into the next phase of his career with live performances. For more information, go to jav3xmusic.com.
