PREMIERE: Lootbeg - I'd Rather Be Myself [Gestalt Records]

The holy grail for a music fan is to hear music from another planet, which has not been influenced by us whatsoever. Whenever we explore new dimensions, the focus is usually visual. It's rare that we examine what they do sound like. Not particular for your hips, but for your mind and soul this piece of sonic architecture let's you travel to another universe as your heart rate settles before reaching new sonically enforced highs. Four timeless tracks transferring immediate portraits of other galaxies while painting pictures of the beauty that lies within magical spheres existing between the imitating process of a presumed real image and the creation of the imagined idea. Best played after midnight HDSN's newest release has an exhilarating effect on many people hearing it whether in a club environment or home alone. 'Music From Another Planet' is not only about being in space, though it has a major influence, it expresses the innovative mind and skill of HDSN as an artist and how he envisions traveling to another world through music.

Efxka knows how to set a real mood and her talents are on full display throughout. Demonstrating excellent skill at taking the listener on a journey, Efxka uses simple and extremely effective combinations of chords to transport you to wherever she wants you to be. Once you're there, she assures that your hips will be moving in time with her thumping kicks and slithering bass lines. Everything appears glossy on the surface, but dig a little deeper and you'll find an unsated feeling of longing, loss, nostalgia, and dare we say even a bit of joy.

PREMIERE: Efxka - Night Race [Sound Transitions]

"The EP was inspired by the current seemingly dystopian state of the world. This inspired me to create something that was more experimental and something that had a tough and nostalgic feel to it. The lead track East Georgia St. is warm and nostalgic; heavily inspired by the Downtown East Side of Vancouver. Heavy saturation throughout the track reflects the harsh environment of the area. The second track Malaji is the most dance floor orientated track from the EP and is built around heavy 4/4 elements and a thick rhythmic bassline that revolves around them adding to the groove and movement throughout. Invisible Sunset features a prominent 808 with synths and arps that evolve around it throughout the track. It was made to feel more Utopian than Dystopian and a path towards a brighter future."
