The Cosmic Voodoo Sets on Acid Part 3 / Spring-Edition

Betty is a night owl. She started to work in the night life at the end of the 80's until 2005 in the trendiest clubs and bars of Lyon, where she lives, such as La Centrale, as a barmaid or party organizer, then at l'Exit, a famous techno bar she managed, but also for the mythical parties I love Boys, Enjoy and Wake Up.
In 1995, she moved behind the decks and mixed on vinyl.
Even after leaving the night life, she returned to mixing utilizing the new technological tools. She delivers club-oriented dance mixes tinged with indie dance and dark disco, while adding some new wave. Her inspiration comes from bands such as Depeche Mode and The Cure, which she particularly likes.
Finally, she’s the half of Nouveau Futur, duo co-founded with her friend Neurotiker. Their first track called « Amour éphémère » will be released December 7, 2022 on Mélopée Records’s compilation Retro Futur.

It was in 2004 that he discovered and began his journey into Electronic dance music.
Today Jenia Clouzer is a Dj, Producer, Promoter and Label Founder. 

When moved to Berlin in 2018 he finally started his journey of full dedication to electronic music.
While developing his production skills, with a small group of close friends he created LMNTL - a collective who’ve been organizing underground events in Berlin for the last 3 years. 
This year he started his own Vinyl Record Label called Distant Gaze, focusing on Electro, Break Beat, EBM and Dark Disco, united by strong and deep sound. 

As a dj performer he found his niche in the Dark Disco scene. 
For those who've witnessed him from the dancefloor it's known that the next hours will be intense for the body and transcendent for the mind.

When it comes to dj home mix, he takes it seriously, raised on masterpieces from 2000’s he tried to learn and capture all the best from the past and bring it to the modern sound. 
Behind each mix stands hard work, not a compilation of tracks but a storytelling with attention to the mixing technique. 

Disco Suicide Mix is a finely blended collection of very Slow BPM bangers, including new, old and some unreleased material.
One thrilling flow of intense and futuristic soundscapes.

This is my second Supreme Rallentato mix - the technique of playing records cut at 45rpm, at the wrong speed, 33rpm. I call it Chug Funk.

It’s slow, sexy, slinky music for the hips and groin - perfect for rubbing bodies against each other.

Tilt Shift sits firmly left of center, a difficult-to-label square peg that unintentionally fails to fit a pigeonhole. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. This can be applied to our music policy, tilting the vertical axis resulting in a sharp area of focus without reducing the depth of field. The selective focus that can be achieved by both tilting and shifting movements, It's compelling because the effect is different from that which you may have become accustomed to. This movement is often used to avoid the convergence of parallel lines, or as we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur.

Millsy And Ben Andrews - Just Add Sunshine - March 2015

Bucharest based producers/ remixers/ DJs, the Gemini Brothers describe 2014 as their "remix year". Tronik Youth, Shindu & Future Bones amongst others on the list of artists getting their trade mark, slo-mo, dirty arpeggiated dark disco mixes. 

2015 is more about original tracks  with releases already  scheduled at least from May to September. We've got an EP on Duncan Grays Tici Taci imprint to look forward to in May, with remixes from Somerville & Wilson as well as a Tici Taci version. Then there's another EP in June on the fantastic Nein Records featuring remixes from In Flagranti, Daniel Kyo (Poker Flat), Lokier and Teniente Castillo. There's also stuff coming on new french label called Mange_Moi and Sheffield based Itchy Pig. Combined with more remixes still to drop, it's looking like we'll be hearing a lot more from Gemini Brothers this year.

If you'd like to catch them live they DJ at the Pre Party & the Nein Records Igloo @ Alfresco Festival in Blackpool - May 23rd & 24th. There's further UK dates in Newcastle & Birmingham in June. As well as gigs lined up Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin, Madrid  or Cordoba.

Dresden-and Berlin-based DJ and producer @sneakerdj is one of the underground’s most respected diggers. Managing to find gold where few other DJs care to look, he’s also made his name thanks to his Dunkeltier edits of overlooked Italo and minimal synth jams.

"I tried to play as much obscure and Canadian electronic Disco as possible. So - on purpose - not exactly the cliché Italo disco. Disco Církev had a very welcoming, open, party-hard, gentle crowd like nowhere else! Thanks to everybody who expressed their appreciation in words after my set. These times are a curse, but having Berliner by choice Curses mixing and compiling the latest art:cast though is a blessing. Ombra International label head is commonly known for blending New Wave and Post-Punk with hunting vocals and guitar riffs as well as maintaining a (dark) Disco vibe. With releases on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno, Bordello A Parigi or Throne Of Blood Curses can definitely be called and seen as the ambassador of the new Dark Disco musical movement that's gaining more and more recognition. Still the originally from New York originating artist has managed to spoil his audience with quality releases and avoided to jump on the money train. Selective collaborations with Perel, Jennifer Cardini, Chinaski or Terr to name a few, approve the artist's discernment to create musical greatness with finesse. Curses art:cast depicts all of the aforementioned as he comes in with an almost 70 minute lasting piece that takes you criss-cross through his world – partly a bit more disco then again darker and new-wav-ish but always Curses. Luca's, the musician's real name, art:cast exceed all expectations for a simple reason: as a close follower of his art you might know what'll follow, but you do not know how.

At only 16 years of age  Javier Busto jumped into the DJ booth for the first time,  mixing the most acid and striking sounds of the moment. Shortly after he began his residency at Saratoga, club clearly stamped  his style.

Javier  has gone through a broad variety of music styles during his 25 year on the decks , EBM, New Beat, Techno, Trance, House, Deep House, Tech-house.  A wide variety of rhythms, melodies and percussion, have always been present in his sets, having evolved over the years into a Dark Disco, Electronic, Slow Techno, New wave, Psycho Disco, Cosmic Disco and other styles with clear touches of electro, acid, without abandoning its melodic and rhythmic essence.

In the 90's has established itself as a resident in renowned clubs like Pacha Villalba, Broker, Boss, Oh! Sierra, and plays various nights in clubs throughout the nation such as  Zoo (Pontevedra), Spit Madrid, Archy, Oh! Madrid, Oh! Marbella, Mondino, Area Local(Valencia), Melody (Albacete), and  finally took  up residence in Jake.

Con tan solo 16 años (1988) , se sube por primera vez a una cabina para hacer sonar los ritmos mas acidos y contundentes del momento. En poco tiempo comienza su residencia en Saratoga, sala que marca rotundamente su estilo. Este madrileño, durante sus 25 años de trayectoria, ha pasado por una gran variedad de estilos musicales: EBM, New Beat, Tecnho, Trance, House, Deep House, Tech-house.  Un alto contenido en ritmos, percusiones y melodías, han estado siempre presentes en sus sets, habiendo evolucionado, con el paso de los años, hacia el Dark Disco, Electronica, Slow Techno, New wave, Psycho Disco, Cosmic Disco y otros estilos cargados de percusiones, a un tempo bajo de BPM´s

En los 90´s se consolida como residente en discotecas de renombre como Pacha Villalba , Broker, Boss,  Oh!! Sierra, y realiza sesiones por distintos clubs a nivel nacional: Zoo (Pontevedra), Spit Madrid, Archy, Oh!! Madrid, Oh!! Marbella,  Mondino, Zona Local (Valencia), Melody (Albacete), para finalmente establecer su residencia en Jake.
