1. What are your top 3 drum n bass/jungle tunes of all-time? 

Honestly I could never pick 3 definitive favourites. I like such a wide range of dnb and jungle it would be way too hard to choose! 
 My 3 favourite at the moment are (in no particular order )  Baiana -  Nia Archives ,  Photing - Harmony & Fire - Sully. 

2. What lead you to working at RK Bass? 

I was hooked when I first bought my first ever record there. I couldn't stop going back and eventually ended up volunteering before being employed by RareKind, it just felt like where I was meant to be. 

 3. If you could be Batman or Robin, who would you be and why? 

Umm I think I'd have to go for Robin on this one, he's a trusty side kick who's always there when you need him, and his life generally seems a bit happier and less stressful!

New Zealand's talented Midnight Dubs makes his Codename: RCRDS debut with 'Generations EP'. This jazz, funk and hip hop inflected release opens with 'Improvise Wisely' where catchy vocal samples entwine with rolling breaks, brass and keys to stylishly open the release. 'Generations' moves in a deeper jazzier direction with steppier breaks and rolling bass evoking classic era atmospheric sounds. '

Love Divine' breaks delicate female vocals into the mix before it's sublime intro gives way to delicately edited drumwork, before 'Cloudbreak' works things further along it's jazzy path before we move onto closing track 'One More Forward' which rolls out into a an altogether darker bleep influence drumfunk rollout - perfect for the heads down dancefloors.

An excellent full debut release from an artist to watch.

About:

Code went from tuning into day-time national radio circa 1991 to hearing tapes of The Prodigy in 1992 and then he found early hardcore / rave / drum & bass / jungle by the age of 14 and that was it - the perfect music! In those early days it was labels like Reinforced, Moving Shadow, Rugged Vinyl, V Recordings and artists like 4-Hero, FBD Project, Intense, Hyper-On-Experience, Rufige Kru and Bizzy B that influenced his taste. Also, tapes of Dj’s like LTJ Bukem, Randall, Fabio & Ratty really made him want to get his own decks and start mixing himself.

Since then Code has become a successful Dj in his own right, promoting and playing at his own night “Nu Killa Beats” for 10 years aswell as playing many towns and cities in Ireland, the UK, Holland, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Iceland and Canada. Many of these nights were as the headline DJ and others were alongside the likes of ASC, Fabio, Andy C, Bailey, Breakage, Equinox, DJ Ink, Chris Inperspective, Zero T, Calibre, Mickey Finn and Remarc to name a few. To help spread the sound of D&B and Jungle he started a record label - “Subtle Audio” (@subtleaudiorecordings) in 2005. Since then artists such as Alpha Omega, Equinox, Breakage, Fanu, Macc, dgoHn, Naibu, DJ Trax, Nebula, Senses, Fracture & Neptune, Dissident and many more have contributed beats to the project and there are more releases planned for 2017 and beyond. The 'Bustle Beats' sub-label was launched in 2012 and caters for oldskool influenced, heavy hitting beats. Code has also started to release some music of his own - his debut release appeared on a compilation CD on Russian label 'Opposide' in 2015 and 2 collaborations with Mecca got a vinyl release on Subtle Audio that year as well. More music to follow soon. Besides all that he continues to spread the sound of breakbeat D&B / Jungle on the long-running internet radio station 'Jungletrain'. You can catch him on there fortnightly on Sundays from 8-10pm.

Hello all, Monday just got a lot better, because we have episode 355 of The Everyday Junglist Podcast comin at ya!!

Episode 355 brings us a mix from a producer who is a personal favorite of mine, Coco Bryce! Coco Bryce has a unique and eclectic style as a producer and you will see the same unique, eclecticism in his mix!

Coco runs the labels, Myor Massiv and Diamond Life, these labels feature tracks which I consider to be the future of amen influenced, jungle, jungle techno, and hardcore tracks!

He also has a couple of amazing garage bits under the guise of Chavinski, courtesy of Sneaker Social Club, showcasing his varied, production talents!

Before we get to the mix, I'm going to attempt to highlight 10 of my favorite tunes from Coco, which is going to be difficult, because I'm sure I could choose more.
