Firstly, thanks to Brian and EJ for the invitation, it was a real pleasure making a 90s mix for the podcast. Selection wise it’s a good representation of the content that’s on the Youtube channel, basically my dream playlist. Every track in this mix is a genuinely a personal favourite and each brings back most welcome but very hazy memories and emotions from an extraordinary time for Jungle / Drum n Bass. The rough idea was to show a progression from ’93 to ’97/’98 but unsurprisingly gets a little distracted by the sonic riches of ’94. It breaks free though and I’m very happy it ends with Hidden Agenda’s The Sun, a track that holds a special significance for me.
