Classic! I’m going to be that guy, I have it on vinyl 🤣

This mix was recorded on 131st day of full-scale war in Ukraine, which actually started in 2014. I stopped recording mixes since I left my homeland. Since my home was taken from me by russian invaders. Nevertheless, I have gathered some vinyl since then, and I took some of the wickidest tunes I have into this mix, to let you know how I feel. I dedicate this mix to Ukrainian defenders, military forces, and every Ukrainian who stands still, and keeps the resistance to the occupants. Our hearts and souls are with you. Episode 639 brings us a mix from talented Producer/DJ, BassboxBen!

Normally, I give a rundown of the mixes I feature, but I'm going to let Ben do the talking on this one: 

It's a vinyl mix (other than my tracks), so the temptation was to pull out all the really rare and expensive tracks, but I decided to go completely the opposite direction and find tracks by some of the biggest artists and labels in Jungle that are still surprisingly relatively inexpensive. There's nothing worse than listening to a mix and finding a track you like that is £500 on discogs! So all these tracks are (and I checked) £20 max for a VG+. A great mix for those just getting into Jungle and Old Skool that don't have the deepest pockets. The tracks by me, Colour Him Jungle & Dark Light, will be released on Steppaz Culture in the next month or so. This is one hell of a mix!! Ben smashed this one!!

Here's a bit of profile info in case you want/need it:
BassboxBen (Formally DJ Ben J), started DJing around 92, attended most of the biggest Hardcore/Jungle/DnB raves & club nights throughout the 90's & 2000's. Played for many parties including Raindance, Breaking Science, Beyond Reality, Promised Land, MC Convention, Hysteria & Launch. Owned a record shop in the early 2000's. Ran a DnB record label with label partner Java around 2010 for a few years. Now known mostly now for an extensive record collection & deep appreciation of early 90's vinyl though my Instagram posts & regular Sunday evening Youtube and Twitch vinyl mix streams. Started producing again a couple of years ago and have a release coming on Steppaz Culture which you can hear in the mix. Played at a few parties more recently including Distant Planet, Soba 93, Oblivion and Rupture.

Sagar Deshmukh aka Fragment is a Drum & Bass Dj based out of Mumbai. He began his journey in the world of music as a writer covering all things bass music. In 2018 he transitioned from writing to Djing turning his passion for storytelling into crafting immersive sets. 

Since then, Fragment has honed his skills into genres like Drum and Bass, Jungle, Footwork, and Dubstep. His expertise lies in crafting deep, gritty bass lines that take the audience on an immersive journey through the broader realms of Bass music.

Over the years, Fragment has opened for artists like Sustance and Operate and most recently played at the Locus Festival in Bali, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in Drum and Bass.
