Boy [LIVE : Aston Rd Sessions]

My mom (Jinx) gave me the gift of music. Now that she's struggling with breast cancer I am hoping that gift can return to her to help her through. 

I have recorded a selection of arrangements for solo acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ukulele. Some are traditional holiday pieces, plus a smattering of other things I've enjoyed playing over the years.  

The music is free to listen to and download, but if you'd like to make a donation, the money will go to the Jinx Breast Cancer Fund and will assist her in her medical, travel, and living expenses.

The performances aren't perfect. I recorded most of them in about a week's time. But once I had them recorded I handed them off to my friend, fine woodwind doubler, and recording engineer Glen Quarrie, who took the raw recordings and made them sound like something people might actually want to listen to! :-)  Glen was generous in donating his time and expertise (as well as the lend and gift of some equipment and software I needed to complete these recordings). I owe Glen a huge debt of gratitude.

Lily was a group of 5 friends who loved to sing.  The songs were written partly as a group, some by different members. But all the vocal arrangements were a compilation of our singing together and just trying things.  This recording was done by Dave St. Louis, now deceased. He heard us, lined up an fellow who was able to write the instrumental arrangements, and recorded us in his studio. I really loved this experience - we all did.
