Moon Harbour gains a new recruit in Jey Kurmis, who drops his Refresh EP via the Leipzig imprint next week.

With a history of releases for the likes of Hot Creations, Lost and Phobic behind him, the Leeds producer is well-fitted to Matthias Tanzmann's label. Taking things deep, down and dirty on his new effort, Kurmis turns out 3-tracks of sultry house.

Our Debut Transmission 'Fourtunes' uses its simple call and response vibe to devastating effect, answering a murky grumble with the digital drip of acidic synths.

When Pig&Dan decided to join forces, they began a truly prolific production schedule establishing their reputation as producers of pulsating electronic music that straddled dark house and high-energy techno, whilst creating their signature style of twisted and experimental breakdowns. Since those early days, they have created a repertoire that not many can match and have constantly been releasing their music on the most respected labels and playing at the best events worldwide.

Pig&Dan follow up to their outstanding first EP on Drumcode with ‘Chemistry’. Compromising of three tracks the mood fluctuates with each record to create a well-balanced, dynamic EP. Chemistry is a dreamy listening platform that mixes cyclic synth lines and stabs to crescendo into a late night imagination. The other two tracks are on the harder tip with their thunderous kick drums and disorientated sounds that provide a different edge to the EP with a harder, peak time sound.

We could spend the next three paragraphs banging on about the monumental impact our first release ‘We Do What We Want’ had, but to be totally honest with you, we are tired of the track now and just want to move on to the raft of equally amazing music we have lined up for release on We Are The Brave.

However, in case you were living under a rock this summer, the key facts you should make a note of are as follows: it was the unofficial anthem for ravers from Hideout Festival to Creamfields. Annie Mac went mental for it on Radio 1. We got snapchats from school kids buzzing off the track and tweets from retailers playing it in their shops. It was even heard in KFC! And our soundcloud stream went into virtual meltdown clocking up 315K listens in under three months.

So yeah, not much to live up to… but you know what? We Are The Brave, we do what we want… and we want to get on to release number two! It’s called Friday Night Dancing. It’s by Alan Fitzpatrick. Skream is on the remix. Nuff said!

Julian Jeweil lands on Christian Smith’s Tronic label on Monday 5th December with his remix of the label-head’s ‘Initiate Sequence’. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of the rework above.

The original track is taken from Smith’s third solo album ‘Inut/Output’, which also landed via Tronic earlier this year. For his remix, Jeweil pairs his trademark destructive low end with searing claps to destructive effect.

Jeweil’s cut comes as part of a remix package that also includes material from Kenny Glasgow, Kaiserdisco and Victor Ruiz.

Misfit Music returns after the initial success of their first release from label honcho montel. For the second release, London based Cera Alba delivers 2 heavy weight slices of peak time House music. ‘Apollo’ and ‘Zeus’ are prime examples of how Cera Alba’s sound has developed over the past few years. Stripped back warehouse style House music come Techno. Lead track ‘Apollo’ doesn’t mess about. The infectious groove and seductive vocal sample lure you deeper into the track, til you’re hit with a proper uplifting breakdown. Building and building until you’re dropped heavily back into the groove.
The supporting track ‘Zeus’ is a different beast. Dark & twisted atmospheric synth stabs and pads drive the track into top gear. This one is clearly designed for big dark rooms, with nothing more than a strobe and smoke machine.
Aus Music stalwart, Marquis Hawkes has been drafted in for remix duties. Taking us on 2 completely different journeys. His main remix keeps all the peak time vibes of the original, while featuring his own unique twist. Then his ‘House It Up’ mix sends us straight to Baltimore for an exhilarating organ led slice of old skool Deep House, reminiscent of the early Basement Boys sound.

Cera Alba - Zeus - Misfit Music - Out Now

As we move into 2018, Misfit Music returns for it’s 5th release. The label has been making huge waves since its inception, last summer. Signing Stockholm’s Tiger Stripes for this next release is true testament to how rapidly the label is progressing. Many will be familiar with the Drumcode regular’s more recent work, but Mikael Nordgren (aka Tiger Stripes) boosts a rich back catalog of material with releases on Ibadan, King Street / Nite Grooves, Get Physical to name but a few. 
In keeping with his contemporary take on the modern Techno sound, Tiger Stripes delivers 2 heady cuts for the Belfast label. Title track ‘Bang’ hits hard with it’s infectious vocal hook and is 100% designed for the dancefloor! While ‘Moan’ is deeper and geared more for those late night moments with it’s low slung vibe and bass heavy groove. Label boss MONTEL steps up for remix duties under his new Techno alias ‘MNTL’  and provides a stripped back and hard hitting alternative to the original.

Tiger Stripes - Bang

We welcome Drunken Kong for their last and arguably strongest EP of this year. The Japanese duo delivered 4 peak time tracks that showcase their studio skills in both melodic and percussive techno. 'Vibration' is a peak time percussive track that goes full steam ahead! 'Reset' has strong melodic hooks using their analog synths, coupled together with their trademark energetic groove. 'Straight Ahead' and 'Message' complete this single with two melodic and groovy tracks that are unmistakenly Drunken Kong.
