If it’s devilishly deep and it’s spine-tinglingly soulful, it’s got to be Hot Since 82. While it might seem like a fairy tale, Daley Padley’s story started out grim: He grew up in the hills of Yorkshire, living on welfare in a broken home. But that all changed after his track “Let It Ride” was released on Beatport. He’s capitalized on his frighteningly fast rise up the ranks by launching his own imprint, Knee Deep in Sound.

The next thing brewing is the label’s first mixed compilation, which will be enchanting audiences with a ton of wicked new releases, including three never-before-heard Hot Since 82 tracks. For Halloween, he’ll be back in the US and ready to celebrate at Escape: All Hallows’ Eve. His one request? “I’ve yet to actually try a Twinkie,” he says. “Someone hook me up.”
