Here is the second of my “Behind the Music” mixsets that showcases amazing music production talent in the Progressive House Genre.

I am happy to present to you all, an hour....the amazing...

J. Lauda

Growing up in Buffalo in the state of New York, USA, Jim Jarvis AKA J. Lauda had the benefit of Toronto being just an hour away where he was able to witness the explosion of a world class dance scene. 

On a more local level, he also was able to experience the fertile electronic underground of which swept Buffalo by storm. 

These experiences have left an imprint that still helps shape his sound today, leading to a string of well- received singles and remixes on Pangea Recordings, SLC-6 Music, Massive Harmony, Slideways, MK837, Polyptych and Cable Recordings.

Due to the high quality of Jim's work a host of artists have gladly remixed his music too such as Headkube, Alfonso Muchacho, Jorge Viana, Kandar & Deep Dementure to name a few.

Again it is always a real privilege to play Jim's music which you can tell is made from the heart with its' spacial backdrops, soulful warmth, textural richness and ear soothing melodies.

Jim I personally salute you!

Last month, Beatport asked me to make a chart to show my favourite releases over the last year, and I mentioned on last month’s show that it would be a good idea to let one of you make a mix of the chart for me to play this month.
