For the 74th episode of our podcast serie we're happy to welcome Polish underground promoter and DJ Dtekk. He performed at our event in About Blank on the 25.11.2022.

Thanks to his long career, Dtekk has established himself as one of the most experienced DJ in Poland, having played different styles and genres throughout the years.

He recorded for us a special original mix, consisting of a rhythmical, high-paced techno with many hypnotic elements, sapiently mixed trough his experienced hands.

He's one of the most beloved people of Poland's music landscape and the glue connecting different scenes and generations—Dtekk has been helming the DJ booth for 22 years now. Since his debut in Metro club, he has become one of the ambassadors of techno and electronic music in the country and was responsible for co-founding FOMO club, the Technosoul collective and label, as well as Salon Ambientu events and Secret Location parties. Thanks to his hard work, his nickname became synonymous with club culture.

His versatility allows him to mix a very broad spectrum of what’s best in techno and electro music. However, his interest reaches further to experimental and ambient music, or to italo disco, which holds a particularly special place in his repertoire. When DJing he aims at striking a balance between the authentic hunger for the deepest forms of artistic expression in music and the spreading of his love to the audience.

Episode 03: Badmarien

Our third instalment sees us lost in a harsh yet beautiful wintery landscape. One that is storm haggard, where barren ice sheets crack under strain from the elemental pummel. Such scenes you will encounter in this hour of tense and hypnotic techno from Leeds resident Badmarien. A mix where dark atmospheres dominate and light casts itself only briefly amongst the shifting grooves and rhythm work.

Badmarien's approach to mixing is derived from a more classically orientated musical background, focused on exposing the tactile and experimental. This makes total sense for someone who has recently finished a PhD in the Philosophy of Art and Psychology of Sensory Evaluation.

As a local who has attended multiple Portal events and voiced a passion for the sounds that we too love, we were delighted to invite Badmarien to share this mix with us. So wrap up, blow into those palms, and take a bold step into that cold embrace that awaits.
