In 2017, while working on his solo project, Jaycation, Casio enlisted help from Nanosaur on some production and vocals.  Their sound clicked. A year later, they held weekly chill sessions, which eventually led to their 2019 collaborative album, Wave Goodbye.

Melodic beats paired with emotionally cheerful, yet melancholic lyrics, and infectious hooks are staples of a Jay Casio track. But the artist’s real trademark is when he takes the beat and “throws it underwater”. Listen to his music and you’ll get the picture.  

Jay is a founding member of party/art collective Trill Team 6 (TT6), known for throwing rap-based parties around Oakland in warehouses, basements, and other unconventional spaces.
