I believe it was written in the stars that I would become an artist when I came to earth 21 years ago.
I, Jaycee Clarkson was born in the Netherlands and grew up in Roermond with my mother. From the beginning of my life I had always been incredibly obsessed with music.
I started playing guitar at the age of 5 years old and through continuous practice I managed to develop my artistic talent that led directly to me being able to express my feelings through singing at the age of 14.
My life was never easy because I had to grow up without a father, and my mother had cancer.
Music helped me through a lot of rough times and I came to discover that it does not only change a person’s mood, but it also has potential to create a whole new life.
Ever since I came to discover this, I’ve been creating in a world of destruction - as much as I could.
I took action on this strong urge to change from within and wrote a letter to a talent show in my country. Not to brag or anything, but as expected I was one of the first candidates to be invited.
Even though the crowd responded very positively to my performance, the judges wanted me gone. I did not see this as a failure, but as an opportunity to grow. I let it motivate me to work twice as hard as I did before.
The way the crowd responded so positively to my performance made me strive even harder to become an artist, it made me realize that this is really what I want. I’ll do anything to achieve my goals no matter the cost, even if the judges don’t like me – I will become an artist.
I tried my hardest not to let all the negativity get to me - at times it did, but I would never let that demotivate me from my goals, all my life I’ve been trying to turn negativity into positivity and I will continue to do so in the future.
Even after all this negativity I still believe that there are generous, empathic people in the world who have a great heart and are willing to support my cause.
Currently I’m ready as ever to release my music, it’s just the calm before the storm.
