Those good eggs at Discs of Fun and Love have kindly asked us to contribute to their rather lovely mix series. Initially I pulled out strictly soul steppers and modern numbers but after looking behind the sofa I decided to go wider as I wanted to showcase some of my favourite records from my collection of ol'dirty vinyl. G Funk, Rap, Boogie, House & Brazilian. Many styles, many vibes. Reach for that Holsten, twist one up and enjoy the ride. This month we got two brand new Tigerskin tunes for you. "Our Love Is Still Alive" combines a classic and soulful Tigerskin groove with his more recent, less electronic styles. Here, a filtered, mellow guitar loop and sharp rimshot is pushing the dancer forward. "Walk the Lizard" plays heavily with the Caribbean influence already shown on the last Tigerskin releases. Various acoustic and electric instruments are coming together to form a joyful and uplifting club atmosphere for positive people. Oh Yeah!

This new release from HELP presents music from various HELP-related artists. Another release from the Århus-imprint that doesn’t directly state “club-proof”, but still, this one wouldn’t mind having a spin or two by your local dance-pusher. The opening track is by Central; a fresh house tune with both melodies and good-vibes - maybe the closest this young man has come to making an anthem. Next up is the 4 piece group Maizena with a ambiguous rhythmical ambient-house jam from the area of Denmark where it rains the least. On the B-side you’ll find a raw and to the point recording of DJ Sports and C.K joining PH1 in his throwback techno-studio in the suburbs of Århus. Next up is the long awaited debut from Manmade Deejay, who has been cooking a floating rhythm jam for this 5 course meal of modern danish cuisine. Last but not least Amsterdam-based KAAP joined Central on a fine day at Rubber Studios to create this dreamy and galloping ride.  All in all this genuine piece of wax if filled with local devotion and love from the HELP-crew. Releasing a record for possibly be the final time as The Strictly Jaz Unit collective. We present Glenn Underground & Boo Williams "Tempest" DLP, a collection of musically rich tracks. Produced with the goal of carefully preserving the natural dynamics that work so well alongside the musicality and tight keyboard work of the tracks. 

This record is a labour of love for GU and Boo, based around a double LP vinyl format with digital release also. Glenn's history needs no hyping, with a massive record on Cajaul, Prescription and many more. When combined with Boo's history with Chicago that arcs back to 1981, this collaboration shows two true masters of the game at the height of their powers.

The whole record is rich in sonics and diverse in terms of melodies with some class A keyboard work. This attention to detail elevate tracks that are at home on any dance floor as much as they are at home.
