"Illa Ghee’s Social Graffiti drops next Tuesday, and TRU is proud to premiere its last leak prior to its release. The track titled "James Worthy" can be found in the very center of the album, and is key to many of the album’s themes. “People dig my lyrics but I’m not a super star. The same way James Worthy was to Magic and Kareem,” explains Illa Ghee about the song’s title, which hits a personal note tying into the album’s overarching theme of finding art in things overlooked, undervalued, or taken for granted, by the masses. According to Illa Ghee, “Most people look at graffiti and see it as trash. They don’t see the art, or the letters in the art. I feel like for Hip-Hop it’s the same thing… people don’t hear the beauty in the art form.”"

""James Worthy" is an understated track that fits the subject to a tee. Illa Ghee describes his m.o. over an ethereal vocal sample accompanied by crisp snares. The song doesn’t have a hook in the traditional sense, but rather interjects bursts of commentary from games the legendary Lakers player performed in, adding dramatic flair to the track."

About 'Social Graffiti':
Longtime Brooklynite lyricist Illa Ghee gets set to release his third solo full length LP, Social Graffiti, which is set to be released through IMOR Entertainment on July 8th. The album features guest appearances from industry veterans Sean Price, O.C., Fame (of M.O.P.), Guilty Simpson, JuJu (of The Beatnuts), Royal Flush, General Steele (of Smif-n-Wessun), and boasts production from legendary beatsmiths such as Large Professor (Nas, Busta Rhymes), Ayatollah (Mos Def, Ghostface Killah) and Team Demo (50 Cent), among others.

About Illa Ghee:
Illa Ghee is an RIAA Certified Gold Record recipient for his guest appearance on the song "Can't Get Enough Of It" as featured on Mobb Deep's third album, Hell on Earth, which was released in November of 1996. Ghee is also featured on "Hold You Down," featuring Prodigy and Nina Sky, off The Alchemist's debut solo LP, 1st Infantry, which peaked at number 101 on the the Billboard 200 and number 11 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Over the years, Illa Ghee has collaborated with an array of iconic emcees such as Mobb Deep, The Beatnuts, Tragedy Khadafi, Blaq Poet, Inspectah Deck, Mic Geronimo, Jaz-O, and more and has performed alongside Slick Rick, Cypress Hill, and Dilated Peoples, among others. To date, Ill Ghee has worked with several notable industry producers such as The Alchemist, Large Professor, Havoc, Ayatollah and DJ Skizz, among others, and was one of the first Hip-Hop recording artists to collaborate with Benny Blanco for the track "Let'em Know," whose gone onto create music for the likes of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Maroon 5 and more.
