In this song I tried my best to switch up the style of this project into more of a darker rnb sound aesthetic which you will later hear in the next few songs but I wanted to make the switch in order to capture as much emotion as possible.

Is this even a question? I used Brent’s infamous instrumental from his bands popular song “Watchu heard” I really was inspired when I heard the harmony’s and wanted to sample them in order to make this song which adds a perfect touch to the ep.

Watchu Head (Jayem version sped up)

On the track “watchu heard” jayem is talking frequently about multiple things all at once. Jayem wrote this song to relate some of his issues that he faced at the time, however mostly wrote this for a girl that Jayem chased for so long. In one of the lines where he references “gotta let you go cause your dead weight” symbolizes his frustration. A few lines later Jayem goes back to talking highly about the girl indicating that he still holds onto this girl leaving him in an endless cycle.

Watchu heard

Jayem Fillow (JM) Filipino R&B artist from California, originally known for blowing up on tik tok with his track “From A Distance” found his sound inspired around artists such as Brent Faiyaz, Avenoir, Sonder, Daniel Ceaser, Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR, The Weekend and many more.  At the age of 12 started his music journey after listening to many songs by many underground BandLab artist. Jayem originally started making corny hopeless romantic/love songs in his bedroom, but later expanded to more deeper styles of R&B that fits more of his style. Jayem is still experimenting with much more deeper topics and using his sound to create a bigger impact on the R&B genre. He wishes to expand his music onto better things such as Dark R&B but for now he’s working on an EP.
