The past month has been emotionally draining. The state of the country has me TIRED AF to say the least. 

Being a frequent runner, the Ahmaud Arbery story hit close to home. I run in my neighborhood regularly and often times at night. I don’t live in fear but I’d be lying if i said I haven’t second guessed it lately. 

George Floyd’s case gives me flashbacks to my own police brutality incident I survived in high school. For years I’ve had to suppress anger towards the police just to ensure I can make it home. Now that I have 2 black boys of my own, I have to keep in mind that no matter how much I want to fight back the main priority is to LIVE. Gianna doesn’t have her father because of 4 coward’s complete lack of humanity. 

This song, #TIREDAF, is just something that was on me and my brother @theoth3rs_ were feeling at the time. I personally have always stood away from songs like this because they can come off in poor taste but this one just hit a little closer. 

I encourage you all to do SOMETHING. Protest, have a conversation (not an argument), with those who understand, donate to an organization who is trying to make a difference (campaignzero.org or nlg.org ), demand change from your government officials. 

Change is an ocean liner, not a speed boat. It’s coming, but it does take time. Keep living, keep fighting, keep listening, keep sharing, keep loving.
