Transmission Radio. Curated and hosted by Arianna Danae,
based in Brooklyn, NY. Our guest mix this month is by Vivian
Wang. The classically trained merging talent has made quite a
name for herself in the NY scene, so far she has shared the stage
with artists such as Juan Atkins, Andrey Pushkarev, Lauren
Flax. Vivian is also co-founder of Freshly Pressed, an all vinyl
party series which benefits a nonprofit music and mentoring
organization dedicated to empowering girls and genderexpansive
youth.

This mix is a practice session that I recorded at the studio with no particular clue of what was going to go down. It has been a while since my hiatus during the pandemic and now more than ever I found again the joy of sharing music with others.

Influences: My Armenian heritage, paired with the fact that a lot of my childhood and formative years was spent going to Suryoyo halfa's. I would dance dabke with all of my extended family to a live singer and a small band of a synthesizer keyboardist and a derbake player, inspiring the natural percussive rhythm consistent in the music I resonate with.
