A 1.5 hour set that turned into a 3:17 h set because the next dj didn’t show up, and then Seth Schwartz ran late; the Playa provides. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. After 8 years this is our last year bringing the Disco Knights camp back to Burning Man. I made this mix with the long drive to Burning Man in mind. Every year the drive up is a very interesting part of the journey for me… I think of it as the emotive start to the burn experience. This year in particular as it’s the last year we’re bringing our disco space ship to the playa. So the anticipation of all the memories of the last 8 years that I know are going to be flying through my mind made me want to play a set that I can rock during the drive through Tahoe hills. Not necessarily a mix of my favorite tracks played at the camp or even a representation of it, but more the feelings I’d like to remember looking back at the last 8 years.

Borzu [Bo] - Journey To Black Rock City Mix

This is the first of a four mix series, the titles and genres are based on the first four lines of the William Blake poem, The Tyger. In the poem, Blake questions what sort of entity could create such a magnificent creature, while the tiger traverses the forest, under cover of night. 
Like the first line of the poem, this mix is called 'Burning Bright', which I thought was fitting since I've been wanting to do a Burning Man inspired mix. Bonus points to anyone that can spot the words borrowed from Lauren Hill...I've give you a hint, it isn't the quote at the very beginning. I added that quick statement from Ray Manzarek of the Doors because he just simply nails it while talking about genre. Please follow if you like the beats, many thanks!

Burning Bright - Mix 1 of 4

The realization that I have been DJing as The Scumfrog for twenty years, the bond I have with certain records, and the joy these records bring to dance floors year after year, made me want to put together a top40 of my most played DJ tunes.  I gave these tunes an arbitrary order (except for the top 5, which are truly my all-time most played records) and played them during a live stream on Saturday May 9th 2020. During the broadcast some friends joined me who were instrumental in making some of these records.
