Ivy Barkakati is an American DJ and producer based in Barcelona since 2012. Her solo music has been released on Modern Obscure Music, SOS Music, and Butter Sessions, and her vocals have featured on tracks by Cardopusher, Furious Frank, and Roza Terenzi. Her project IVAN with the Venezuelan producer Phran self-released their EP Delicious Fantasy in 2020. She is also half of another duo, Proceed, with the Basque producer Eneko Balzategi, and in 2020 their debut EP was released on Haus of Beats. She presented the radio show Casa da Crega on the online station dublab.es from 2016-2021.

Texas-born, Brooklyn-based producer/deejay fleet.dreams has got the touch; a carefully cultivated craft for dancefloor productions that has provided some of the more uniquely enjoyable American house music in recent memory. fleet.dreams released his debut 12” fleet.magic in 2018 via Washington DC institution PPU records that Resident Advisor praised as “woozy, R&B-inflected synth-funk that could have been released anytime during the last 25 years.”

Fresh off a two year stint in Detroit regularly studying sets from local masters such as Rick Wilhite, Norm Talley, Marcellus Pittman and Dez Andrés, fleet.dreams made his way east, landing in NYC just as the city was falling into pandemic lockdown. May 28th marked the release of Return of the Dreamer — fleet.dreams’ meditation on the simple joys of house bliss through four effortless east coast garage house grooves that go down with ease and bring to mind everything from the Italo House heights of DFC Records, the Balearic house purity of Don Carlos, and the lush beauty of Glenn Underground, Kerri Chandler, and Pal Joey. RA.1000 launches with Theo Parrish, live at fabric: a vanishingly rare club mix from the king of deep crates and impossible transitions.

There are DJ sets and then there are Theo sets. No matter how many times you've caught him in action, every time still feels like the first. Running hot, levels smoking, isolator working over time. You think you know dance music? Think again.

Parrish's debut on the RA Podcast is a milestone for the series, one we've sought for over 15 years. So it was only right that Theo led off our 1000th celebrations. Recorded live at fabric last December as part of RA's party with the London club for their 25th anniversary, this three-hour segment documents the crescendo of his eight-hour marathon. 

The Detroit legend doesn't release mixes often, and when he does, they're usually studio recordings: think NTS shows, his 100% Detroit edition of DJ-Kicks or classic tapes Body (1997) and Methods of Movement (2000). A capture of the Sound Signature boss on the dancefloor is hard to come by.

Sure, there's galvanising build-ups and crowd-pleasers, but laced throughout a Parrish beatdown are rarities designed to shock the system. In a business dominated by marketing, the vinyl master towers above thanks to a relentless hunger for lustrous melodies, moods and textures of all stripes, which he and he alone can fold into an inspiring and exhilarating joyride.

On RA.1000, blissful reggae precedes new wave disco; '80s R&B morphs into synthy techno; bleepy Chicago jack makes way for a poignant vocal ballad. It's Theo through and through. Once again, he proves that anything and everything is possible with the right records.

Underground Resistance is probably the most important Detroit record label since Motown: their sound and attitude emerged in the early '90s as the most uncompromising one from the Motorcity, it was pivotal in shaping US and European Techno, started the resurgence of 90's Electro, but most of all indelebly marked the consciousness of thousands of people around the world who share their messages of resistance and hope.
And last but not least, they did so many amazing records!

So, 30 years has passed since UR-001 came out in 1990.
Since UR and 'Mad' Mike Banks were so influential for me, not just sonically but mostly on the attitude side of things, I decided to go thru all my 12"s and make a retrospective tribute mix to celebrate this anniversary.

At first I wanted to pick 30 tracks only and keep it compact but so many great ones were left out.. so I just started and at the end I used 60+ tracks! Almost all the classics are there, plus a fair share of lesser known tunes which really shine as well in my opinion. All from the UR catalogue only. No Z-tracks unfortunately :)

I really hope to have done justice to their sound, and I hope as well that the listeners will enjoy the ride, have the chance to discover some amazing music, and maybe feel the energy and pride and love that Mike Banks and the UR crew put into the music and pressed into the grooves.

For valentine´s special we have invited the super talented Ciel to join us for our next mix in her own words: 
In honour of Valentine's Day, I decided to make a mix that's all about love. Love that's flirty and sweet, sometimes shy and sometimes passionate, sometimes tumultuous and sometimes ecstatic, sometimes innocent and sometimes sensuous, love that's fun, joyful, and open-hearted. Of course everyone has their own definition of love music, and what they tend to associate with love is usually dependent on the style of music they share with their past and present partners, and so is very personal. For me I tend to think nothing is more romantic than soul, r&b, and jazz. But since this is a dance mix, I selected music for the dancefloor that I consider the descendants of these styles---house, hardcore, and UKG. And just so I can be extra cheesy, every song talks about love explicitly. This is my first year since I started touring that I'm actually home for Valentine's Day, so I plan on enjoying it with my two loves—my bf & our cat. :)
