Stuart Howard aka Lapalux has come up with something special for his first release with Cali’s finest, Brainfeeder. Having made his name with his cassette-only “Many Faces Out Of Focus” and acclaimed bootlegs and remixes he returns with a seven track EP of such poise and beauty, one listen is enough to know you’re onto something special.

Lapalux bathes your brain in lush textures, surprising and explosive atmospheres set in unencountered, unearthly spaces, all somehow perfectly set against catchy rolling choruses informed by pop and commercial R&B. On the “When You’re Gone” EP he channels and refines his sound and shapes it into hazy, woozy emotion. Whether working with a singer like Py (on “Moments”), or deconstructing found samples and his own voice, Howard stretches, bends and warps sound to make soul – not plastic posturing but real emotion made of synthetic sound.

They say catchiness is recipe-based and dance music industry producers make a living trying to find and apply the perfect balance and chemistry between particular elements, however once in a blue moon some guy comes out of nowhere and touches on a bunch of soft spots with a witty seamlessness - what one might call a prodigy. 

ViLLΛGE has been in charge of our visual side, the go-to guy for anything from video trailers to VJing during our club nights. He couldn't avoid making some music of his own and it just so happens that it's not only up to par with everything that Origami Sound stands for but also a testament of his seemingly infinite potential and fantastic sense of quality and appeal. 

"Takeover" is the first in a series of EPs that will focus on our core crew of artists from both the local (Romanian) and international scene.

Jay Solstice, 27, is a rapper from Camden, NJ and he is on a mission. Inspired by sounds and artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Tory Lanez, Jay shows how adaptable he is in showing many different styles while using his pinpoint lyricism in order to give insight into his views as well as bestowing words of wisdom and advice to those in need. 

In 2013, he released his first mixtape project called Chrysanthemum Throne under his former name J-Dice. Throughout the years, Jay Solstice has performed in many different venues and tour events in the Greater Philadelphia Area as well as Long Island, NY. While working on his sound, he was inspired to open a local home studio business in the City of Camden and has help start the careers of many young artists who are flourishing in the local area. 

His talent even extends overseas. For example, Jay has teamed with artists in the United Kingdom, Germany, and even Canada, while growing up, Japan has always due to his novice conversational skills in Japanese. He has gained attention and praise from a variety of YouTube sensations for his covers and remixes.
