Half Alive

Jaysus Zain started writing at the age of twelve. It all started as a homework assignment for creative writing at school. By fifteen, he started writing poetry, raps, and even a play. By twenty, he started his own poetry event with the help of an art gallery owner in Libya. 

Dubbed, The Environment, Jaysus wanted people to feel like they're free to do whatever they want and speak their mind. He facilitates writing workshops on poetry and Hip-Hop. As a performer, Jaysus is known for his intricate word play and complex perspective on subjects from love to self-identity. He recently won the International Human Rights Day prize for a poem against human trafficking called "Half Alive".
