Based off of the 1976 movie ‘Carrie’ with Sissy Spacek. About me relating to Carrie in my own life with my family and people not believing in me doing music. In high school, I went through a lot of drama with my friends and my ex boyfriend (who was cheating on me). They didn’t like that I took him back every time (I don’t blame them) but they weren’t true friends in the way of being ‘there no matter what’. They formed their own friendship and cut me out of the mix. I felt like the laughing stock of my high school. I would be so lonely sometimes that I would literally walk into the lunch room, not see anyone I know to sit with who I really cared for and decided to eat lunch in the bathroom stalls or my classrooms. I spent/spend a lot of my time alone. In college I wasn’t happy going to school for pre-med when all I did was listen to my iPOD throughout class imagining myself in music videos and songs. I would even skip class to stay in my tiny dorm to write songs and perform for myself in the mirror and my webcam. When I came out to the ‘public’ that I was a rapper, my mother pretty much peed herself. My pictures I would put up were revealing, my words became more vulgar, and I started to Not to Give A Fuck. I dropped out of college after my second year and my mother told me on the phone, “I feel like I lost my daughter.” Valid statement, I was no longer putting on the sweet and innocent façade, that never got me anything but having a broken heart. JAZi is the side of me that I always wanted to be, she is the man in me. The tough, outgoing, dark, outspoken, fearless, and talented bitch that I am. Big things have small beginnings.
