It is exactly 10 Years ago since YOSA’s last EP on Dirt Crew Recordings and we are so delighted to welcome him back on the label! We have always had a deep connection with Japan, doing lots of events and visiting regularly. YOSA has always been one of our friends on the forefront of the Tokyo scene. YOSA has had a little break from dance music for the past six years, concentrating more on Pop and Indie music.

In his own words: “I believe this Rainbow EP is worthy for my comeback after 6 years of rest. When I heard the original vocal sample during the pandemic, I almost cried and immediately composed "Rainbow". Then I decided to go back to this house music scene where I used to be. I can see people dancing, laughing, crying with joy, and celebrating a reunion on the grass, under the rainbow with this track.”

Rainbow is a pumping and uplifting deep groover of a track and as YOSA already mentioned a perfect fit for any Summer outdoor dancing event. The second track “Thermae” has a more Disco-fied feel and an irresistible bass line. On the remixes we have a fairly new producer from Japan called “mok”, these two mixes are his first official outings, but he already has produced a big collection of tracks. YOSA says “He is such a genius, and I'm glad to be able to introduce his talent to the world.” Both mixes are chilled, relaxed and dubbed-out journeys with a delicate indie twist. So, when we were approached by two already existing legends from the beautiful world of House Music, Charles Levine & Fuzzy Cufflinxxx (aka Bear Who) with a collaborative project, I kind of already knew it was going to be a good fit before I even listened.

Well, as expected, it is a REALLY good fit! Both of these guys, as well as being fantastic DJs with their own hugely successful musical projects, have frequently produced interesting and original music for many years now and Do I Stay is no exception.

It’s a piping hot journey down the rabbit hole of sonic perfection.

The original mix as well as being a fantastic lyrical journey also hits like a freight train with enormous drums and an even bigger bassline. Enough promo-speak though. Click play and hear it for yourself. But be warned, sitting still through this will be extremely difficult. With remixes from Fuzzy in his WEPA beats guise and a cheeky Maintenance remix from myself on top of the astounding original, we hope you love it too."

Felix Laband’s The Soft White Hand is the masterwork of an artist who expresses himself through musical and artistic collage acting together to reinterpret his sources and to express significant elements of his own personal story.
Released by Munich-based Compost Records, the 14-track album is Laband’s first full-length offering since the critically acclaimed Deaf Safari in 2015.


In The Soft White Hand Laband works with source materials that will be familiar to those who know his previous four records – Thin Shoes in June (2001), 4/4 Down the Stairs (2002), Dark Days Exit (2005) and especially Deaf Safari which reached deep into the South Africa scene and its political culture to inspire its vocal and music sampling. However, the disengagement he felt from his homeland during his latest album’s creation – an abiding sense of untethered-ness to place and space, exquisitely rendered in tracks like “Death of a Migrant” – is perceptible in Laband’s desire to illuminate instead aspects of his own life.
“For this album, my source material became almost autobiographical as opposed to African statements I’ve worked with previously,” says the artist. “I have sampled a lot from documentaries from the 80s crack epidemic in impoverished African American communities and
believe my work speaks unapologetically for the lost and marginalised, for those who are the forgotten casualties of the war on drugs. In the past, I have had my issues with substance abuse, and I know first-hand about the nightmares and fears, what it feels like to be isolated and abandoned.”

Parra, nome artístico de Aline Parra, é uma DJ de 23 anos, que reside em Porto Alegre/RS. Ao longo de seus anos foi se descobrindo como artista, focando na música eletrônica, vindo a descobrir sua verdadeira paixão de se tornar uma DJ e produtora musical, atuando na profissão desde 2018. 
Começou a escutar música e a sonhar com as melodias desde pequena. Queria que sua paixão e energia fossem compartilhadas, levando aquilo que sentia para outras pessoas. Focando nas batidas eletrônicas produzidas pelos CDJs e sintetizadores, começou a conhecer mais a mecânica, vindo a se aprofundar no techno e indie dance. A artista começou a adquirir mais conhecimento do gênero nas festas que frequentava desde seus 18 anos. Teve sua primeira experiência como DJ no ano de 2018. Suas maiores inspirações são mulheres fortes que comandam as pick ups ao redor do mundo, como ANNA, Charlotte de Witte, Ella Whatt e Eli Iwasa.

A Brief Utopia (A project by Jinjé) A Brief Utopia was born from an EP released earlier this year by Jinjé (aka, Lee J Malcolm from Vessels) on Scene Unseen. Stepping away from his usual production duties and focusing more on his passion for live drumming and percussion instruments. This was the starting block for much of the composition on the this record. He quickly realised that this would be a brilliant thing to do live and reached out to fellow musicians Danny Templeman (Submotion Orchestra, Gentleman’s DubClub) and Nathan Moseley (Fwar, Brolin) to put together a high energy show aimed at clubs and festivals alike.A Brief Utopia brings a colourful, vibrant and visually engaging experience. Drawing on a love of music from around the world focused through a lens of live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synth work.

We had the chance to play Onyx Festival this past week, a big shoutout goes to the Crew behind the awesome vibe we ended up recording. First two hours you get a trip into the mind of @tinybitofmayhm, filled with dusty house beats, Jazz inspired melodies, and a whole lot a funk & soul. After that Patch took over and delivered a dancefloor breaking 2 hour set filled with straightbeat bangers, bassline fillers, and that certain House vibe we love.
