JAZ SAWYER pays tribute to his former mentee 21 year old Victor McElhaney with a special drum solo. Victor was a talented drummer and musician loved by his peers, teachers and community. Sadly, he was the victim of senseless gun violence near campus where he was completing his last semester at USC’s Thrornton School of Music in Los Angeles. Proceeds will go towards music scholarships and to the family estate.

The JAZ SAWYER GROUP follows up with a new single "ALWAYS" featuring his longtime Bay Area peer Singer/Songwriter/Multi-Instrumentalist Sasha Dobson and one third of the band Puss N Boots (with Norah Jones). The record was written by both Jaz and Sasha dedicated to their fathers who transitioned in recent years, and also honors those lost by always remembering the best moments. 

This is the second of several emotive recordings set to release in 2020 building up to the debut EP "4th Dimension" by the  newly cemented JAZ SAWYER GROUP.

Drummer Jaz Sawyer premiers his newly cemented band with a new single featuring his longtime music pal Kelsey from Blak Emoji. “Take Action!” responds to the State of the Union with all of its opportunities and challenges society experiences daily. This record seeks to inspire hope through music for a better future that must start by taking action and responding to injustice and inequality.

Drummer/Educator Dr. Jaz Sawyer teams up with 2x Grammy Nominated Singer-Songwriter & Edutainer Wyann Vaughn for an electric drum set and voice duet. 

For the duo, this is a first-time collaboration who affectionally refer to themselves as "musical cousins" because of their mutual music partners and affiliates. The performance is sure to captivate the imagination and spirit.
