Over nearly a decade, EWU Jazz has become one of the most vibrant and exciting programs in the Northwest.  The collective talents of over 50 students make up our three large ensembles; the Concert Jazz Ensemble CJE, Studio Jazz Ensemble SJE, Latin Jazz Ensemble LJE and our jazz combos; the Hard Bop Combo, Funk Fusion Combo, Traditions Combo, Avant-Garde Combo, and Vocal Jazz Combo.  Our world-class faculty has been busy playing at jazz festivals, professional conferences, making records on major labels, and preparing what will be one of our most exciting years to date!  Every year our Jazz Dialogues Festival brings some of the biggest names in jazz to our campus and this year we will welcome trombonist Robin Eubanks as our guest artist, along with festival clinicians Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band's Guitarist Andrew Synowiec, Los Angeles vocalist Kate Reid, Jeff Davis (a top call NYC drummer), trumpeter Tito Carrillo (an award winning Origin Records recording artist), and more!  Our academic year clinicians this year will include Guitarist Mark Elf (NYC) and several others.  (We're working on getting Prince's trumpet player here too...!).  We're dedicated to giving our students perspectives from every side of the music industry, from pop to jazz and world music, so stay tuned!
