Tenhleten mix vznikl pro Scanner na Radiu Wave. Věnoval jsem v něm hodinu Johnu Zornovi, kterému je šedesát (3. 9. 2013) a který dokázal báječné věci jako tvůrce, producent i organizátor. Lehce jsem bojoval s tím, že za hodinu se dá připomenout ze Zorna jen zlomek: tak jsem vybral a smixoval 16 fragmentů z různých alb do dvanáctiminutového mixu, někdy i několik přes sebe.

This mix was conceived for a 60-minutes programme Scanner (Radio Wave, Prague, wave.cz) celebrating 60 years of John Zorn. Struggling with just one hour for such a wide works, I selected 16 fragments and mixed them into this short mix, sometimes one over another.

Hi - Another open Collab/Remix Invite, which is still open :-) 
This is probably the 3rd time I’ve attempted to play strings on a digital piano, which I love, though its quite hard to do when one doesn’t know the ‘rules’ of how strings work in practice or theory….. While I think it sounds ok, especially from the mid to the end, I also thought it needed something more….. 

THE OPEN COLLAB: Hence the idea of another ‘Challenge’, where it would be great to get others’ involved and see what they come up with, in collaborating/remixing this track. It can be created in any genre, using any instruments based on this original ‘Strings Improvisation Idea’. 

(Please note that The Subwave Network, UK is now the primary coordinator for this project if I'm unable to be online at times; https://soundcloud.com/the-subwave-network … see also notes in the Playlists) 

GENERAL GUIDE: 
The MP3 file is available for download - if you require a higher quality, please let us know.  The tempo is a bit ‘free flow’ because its an improv (no click track), and according to my DAW, its 134 bpm (not that I always trust the tempo as I often forget to check it when recording)! If the MP3 alone causes a problem, as noted, you can chop and remix the track (as long as the original or main theme/motif remains). 

See what you come up with - It is YOUR interpretation; you can do what ever you like - it can be of any genre, add any instruments, percussion, FX, etc …. Change the ‘tone’ of the piece (uplifting, melancholic, ambient, 'energetic', cinematic, electronic, dance, experimental, anything!). 

WHAT NEXT? Just let us know if you've finished a piece[s], upload it privately so we can listen. You can title the track as you see fit in reflection of your creation (and also use your own graphic).  However, please also try to refer to the open collab invite, in both your title and track description (Fallen Tears)- see below. 

As collab/remixes have come in, we have created a separate 'Playlist' to include all participants, and once done, your piece will be added, and redirected to your own page for more exposure. Each participant is also asked to  create a similar playlist on their own Cloud for greatest exposure :-)

For some reason I thought that I had to improvise too, so after one or two runs along the original track I recorded it. 

Hope I'm not much out of original tune, but at least it has culmination  :-)

And probably I will made another, "mature" take.

The music of Faith No More has lived through five presidents, endless wars, economic boons and busts, global meltdown and revolutionary rebirths. Throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, the hard-edged group’s hybridized sound has scored the soundtrack to a time of change, and now in the 21st century, the legendary band has evolved once more to return with a powerful new album, Sol Invictus, and a new focus.

After eleven years of silence, the San Francisco band reunited for a string of shows from 2009-2012. During that time, the group rekindled the creative anarchy that earned them platinum and gold records, cult status and critical acclaim, forging new music that captures the kinetic sound that made Faith No More one of the most influential rock outfits of their era. “When we first started rehearsing [for the reunion],” Gould says, “Our brains were there but our bodies weren’t. The muscle memory wasn’t there yet. We had to play these songs we hadn’t played in 14 years. But it came back, and it was incredible to hear our songs onstage, coming out of us again.” 

“Superhero,” is the second single from the forthcoming album, which will be available as a limited edition 7-inch single on March 17.

Thank you so much for your continued support and encouragement! I truly appreciate it :-)

 I love the SC community, because it is a 'community', with the many styles of music and the inspirations and encouragement I find here for all! 

After discovering SC and hearing so much talent - I wanted to join in, but so much to learn!   I was a classically trained pianist when a youngster (now a tad rusty), who has restarted a musical journey, originally in learning the field of electronic music, and exploring piano improvisations and compositions.  However, most of my latest works have been piano-based, and am hoping to once again, learn some more electronic and even combine the two; piano and electronic ... But then again, I keep returning to the piano! hehe :)

- still exploring and not feeling bound by any rules!

A Mini Biography: Music has been a part of my life since a young child (my whole family is musical, though of different styles, with my step-father's fantastic rock-band and analog synths, bass and acoustic guitar, my mother's gorgeous Irish folk-band, autoharp and dulcimer, my brother's beautiful self-taught guitar, and my Dad's famous banjo playing) :)   

At a young age of about 5, I attempted composing my own piano works whilst begging my mother for piano lessons; and after about a year, my wish became reality and I trained for the AMEB (Australian Musical Examination Board) exams. I eventually started performing live, with amateur tours around the country area for a singing group and for theatre groups (though that was a long time ago now!). 

But eventually, I headed down a different path in academia, in getting my Bachelors degree, Masters degree and a PhD.

Now I have a chance to find this dream again, slowly but surely, as long as its fun. I also find it very therapeutic, as music can often express so much more than words can. It is a journey where time seems to have no meaning. This is a 'musical diary' of sorts, as I struggle through a difficult time in life health-wise, ... my escape .... music :-)

So, I would love it if you would follow me on this 'journey' because any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

Of course, I am also here as a Fan, and would love to find more people to listen to! There are so many wonderful, talented, and often undiscovered musicians up here, and I cannot get enough of your music! I have very eclectic tastes in music. 

My apologies too if there is ever a delay in my replies, as I can't always be here, but will try to get back to you and comments, I appreciate them so much. Hoping to find all my friends, and new ones too! ;-)
