The Sound of Philadelphia roars back to life with the revival of Love Is the Message, an unreleased early-1980s recording by The Philly All Stars. This long-lost track – featuring the core rhythm section (Earl Young – drums, Ronnie Baker – bass guitar, Norman Harris – guitar, Lenny Pakula – organ, Larry Washington – percussion, Vince Montana, Jr. – vibraphone) that defined Philly soul’s golden era – has been pulled from the vault and reimagined by renowned DJ and remixer Eric Kupper. The result is a vibrant fusion of original funk, soul, and disco grooves with a fresh house-oriented polish, poised to inspire a new generation of listeners.

Angus and Alex are the friends and bandmates behind Goodvibes Sound. Despite only starting to create music together in 2019 the two released their debut album “The Institute” in 2022 – a blend of upbeat discofied soul, indie doused in a heavy dose of psychedelic vibes. Inspired by 1970s California, hot tubs and beach bars, Goodvibes Sound craft groovy psych-pop tunes with a disco twist. A simple yet powerful way to place your subconscious mind in direct contact with the ‘universal vibe-o-sphere’, if you like. The duo are really interested in mindfulness and presence, and how to live in the moment, given all the distractions of modernity around us. Their music is set in the world of the Goodvibes Institute, a mythical research body exploring methods to develop consciousness throughout the world. Goodvibes Sound is the audio division of the organisation. Their album “The Institute” follows the story of two characters who escape from their busy city lives to discover the Goodvibes Institute. Time to take a trip back to the Windy City. A firm favourite song from Dave Lee’s highly acclaimed ‘Metamorphosis’ album under his AC Soul Symphony alias. This time we’ve pulled in some heavyweight remixes to refresh things up.

The main man Dave Lee has flipped it musically, but still with reference and reverence to Chicago with a deep jackin’ Chi-Town Tribute Mix, slapping a thick 303 front and centre. Up next is the Windy City legend himself, Glenn Underground, with his irresistibly cosmic take, drawing on his deep jazz-funk knowledge. Moods and Nic Hanson have reconnected to deliver an electrifying synth-funk odyssey with their latest single, ‘Music Never Looked So Good’. Following their previous collaboration on Moods’ 2021 single “Sinner”, the pair once again demonstrate a remarkable chemistry, effortlessly fusing bubbly synth bleeps, deep underwater chords and a hypnotic bounce into a track that is both expansive and driving. Moods continues to push the boundaries of funk, soul and R&B-infused electronica. Since his debut album, the producer has carved out a distinct sonic identity by balancing tight, rhythmic precision with expansive, genre-blurring soundscapes.
