Berlin based XXXY starts his latest label adventure with Sour Edits after a successful volume first release from himself a few months back, volume 2 is hot on its heels and will undoubtedly follow in the same direction, definitely a label to look out for this year. SOUR002 belongs to Marcin Krupa, the astronomical tapes label boss provides a perfect addition to the new sour edits line up with this smooth 3-track EP. Each track is uniquely impressive in its own way; the polish sample wizard perfectly creates three euphoric bangers, prepare to be taken on an emotional journey.

We have the pleasure of premiering the first track on the release, ‘Jazz with some house elements’. This Jazz-infused rhythmic weapon is everything we love here at bolting bits and is a stand out track in the EP. Marcin does wonders with the unique melody as it swirls around in a haze of house lushness, but another element I have to bring attention to is the brilliant percussive drums playing looping around tying the whole thing nicely together. Lyon based, Moonrise Hill Material initially stamped their mark through a series of stellar records, delivering a brand of familiarly sunny sampled french house yet most importantly, unmistakably and distinguishably, 'them'. This 'renaissance' - if you will - of the French variety of house has seen the rise to the stars of MHM's founders, most notably that of Folamour and Ethyene. Despite an early release on Moonrise Hill and an offering on Folamour's 'For Heaven Use Only', Victor Dijoud aka Kaffe Crème has remained bubbling under the surface - until now!

Kaffe's, 'Neukölln Omelett' contributes further towards the aforementioned French renaissance of underground house music by teaming up with fellow countrymen Vertv records for a quartette of silky and masterfully crafted, intelligent dance music. If you have a penchant for cleverly used samples, then we urge you to listen to this and the rest of Kaffe Crème's work.

Tommy Rawson releases are sporadic but always high quality. As a former member of the Souled duo who ran the excellent Fresh Minute label – he’s been around the more tropical end of UK house and broken beat for many years and this, his first full release for Bergerac ushers forth a new level in his sound. 
This whole record is a masterclass in post bruk, forward thinking, shining, bright UK dance music. Unmatched in emotion and vibes.
"Deep Blue" is quite simply the sound of the summer. Sun drenched, euphoric and soaring. Broken but not broken, 4/4 but not quite housey. Jazzy, soulful….yeah.... It was the highlight of Red Rack’ems Olive Grove closing set at Love International last year when it provided the most halcyon of moments. Live trumpet from Vicky Flint and a whole bag of vibes from Tommy Rawson. This is a classic. Trust.
