This week with dj and producer Michael G from Pretoria, South Africa. I hope you enjoy his "Mid Tempo Classic Collection". 

Bio: 

Michael G was born and raised in the capital city of Pretoria, South Africa. He hit the Dance Music scene in the early nineties as a music fan and a young Dj playing in nightclubs all over South Africa. He has released successful compilations such as ”Flipside House Vol 1”, ”Exclusive 45’s” and ”My House is Your House.” This secured his place as a pioneer and a favourite amongst the followers in the local South African Dance Music scene.

In 2007 Michael G, alongside cousin Jullian Gomes, began the G.Family collective. Their unique brand of Deep House led them to release various Ep’s and remixes on several top South African and International dance record labels. 2011 saw the release of their debut album ”Break the Silence – Deep House Chronicles 6”, which was nominated for the 18th South African Music Awards (SAMAS) in the category “Best Dance Album”.

Michael G has persisted to represent his brand of the strictly vinyl culture, and continues to put his heart and soul into it. ”Vinyl With Love” is a movement which he has dedicated as a platform to showcase his sound and his influences as a Dj, spanning over 2 decades in the industry.

How Deep Are Your Dreams Mixtape by Jazzman

The first show this year is a guestmix by Sven Weisemann from Berlin, Germany. I'm more than happy that Sven did a journey for the Deep Inspiration Show, because I'm a big fan of his productions, mixes and piano sessions since a long time. With this episode I also want to introduce the new Deep Inspiration Show introtrailer, which is produced by Sven Weisemann himself. Enjoy.  

Bio: Despite his young age, Weisemann has been DJing since 1997. His musical influences ranges from Classic, Soundtracks, Soul and Jazz, Deep House and Dub to his beloved Detroit Techno and US House. As a producer, his music draws deeply on the legacy of Chicago and Detroit, yet somehow manages to end up sounding as fresh as a daisy – records such as ‘Vibe’ and ‘Slices’ are house music that is half atmosphere and half beats, and not afraid to take its sweet time to lull the floor with their charms.

A self-taught musician who plays piano, acoustic guitar and percussion, Weisemann also composes jazz and soundtracks – traditions which also inform his house records no doubt, many of which you can find on Meanwhile, House Café Music, Apple Pips, Kann, a.r.t.less, Wandering, Liebe*Detail, Real Soon, Styrax Leaves, Essays, Freund Der Familie and especially Mojuba, where Weisemann’s music slots together with friends Nick Solé and Oracy to form a distinct, and highly collectible, label sound.

Several pseudonyms are in circulation.

As I promised the Deep Inspiration Show is back with something special. I recorded this session during the South Africa tour with my Tascam before some month. I found a good balance between the live recording and the original recording from the mixer. Quality is still fine and you get for sure a little backflash because of the live atmosphere in the recording.  Thanks again to Maze, Tshipi and Ernesto Harmano for this crazy session. I wish to have the whole session as video too because it was really like a movie. In the end are also 2 tracks played by Konstantin Olias and me. Enough talking...enjoy.

Born & raised in South Africa and residing in Johannesburg following several years studying in Cape Town, Jazzuelle made he’s album debut on June 16 featuring the likes of Fred Everything, Lars Behrenroth, Da Capo, Matthias Vogt and more on one of the most prolific labels in Europe, Get Physical Music, which previously championed artists like Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y, DJ T and more, the album was also picked up by legendary South African Powerhouse House label, House Afrika for Physical CD distribution. preceding this, Jazzuelle has been steadily releasing music on labels like Atjazz Record Company, Foliage Records, Lazy Days Recordings, Phat Elephant Recordings and more, he has remixed legendary acts like WHOMADEWHO and the Acid House Originator DJ Pierre on he’s historic What Is House Music Anthem. With a diverse range of inspirations including Brian Eno, Rocco, Manoo, Martin Iveson, Ron Trent, J Dilla, Louie Vega, Steve Reich and The Cinematic Ocherstra, he’s music immediately garnered attention for its maturity coupled with an uncanny ability to create a feeling that transcends dancefloors and quite often, expectations... 

Jazzuelle most recently became the highest rated South African artist on Traxsource.com’s annual list on the Top 100 Deep House Artists List for 2015 debuting at number 67. he was also picked up by the esteemed Red Bull Studios in 2013, which consequently led him to play a part in the renowned Red Bull Music Academy (Bass Camp) which was held in Johannesburg’s Alex Theatre boasting 30 of the most talented, forward - thinking artists in South Africa like Okmalumkoolkat, Fever Trails, Card On Spokes and more.
