We've been working a lot on several songs and projects over the past months, and we've been getting a lot of inspiration. There were times when extra songs were born and times when we felt we needed to give something a rest. And finally it was born. The story of Maiko and the Chosen Samurai closes today with the story of their only child. 

She lived with her grandmother for years and today she is going after her father. Her story is far from simple, for at birth her mother Maiko died and the Samurai received an offer for her life that was too much for him. So he turned to the Gods, leaving his child safe with the grandmother. The girl hasn't seen him since, and today, with the same hope with which Maiko waited for the Samurai to return from the war and the Samurai to go to the gods, she’s going on the road to find the Samurai.

In front of a lonely sakura tree there’s japanese young lady, Maiko, who’s standing and looking into the distance. She’s dreaming of her beloved samurai, who was torn from her by the military seven years ago when the kingdom had been attacked. Although she doesn’t know if she can still see him alive, she waits under the trees to see him again one day. The melodies are made up from her painful and hopeful tears that brings Jazzycal by an EP called „Maiko”. Maybe today will be the day.

Hi, we are Daniel and Viktor and we make JazzyCal. We know each other since the beginning of time. We share the same passion for music and the stage as well as we play in numerous bands together. We cover the whole scale of musical genre by listening or making it on our own instruments. We’ve been musicians and producers for over 10 years in different areas of music, but we found the best of ourselves in lofi hiphop, chillhop & jazzhop.
