I added in the bass guitar riffs to balance it out and make it feel a little funkier. Though to be honest my favorite element in this track might actually be the wide airy synth pads. ☁️🌳☁️

Entelechy means "the actualization of potential", and it's something I like to think about. 2021 was an interesting year, filled with ups and downs, but also plenty of progress in various ways. I started working on this album in the spring and finished it right before the winter holidays. As you can tell, I'm still experimenting around with different instruments and genres, but I feel like I'm getting closer to having a recognizable "sound" or style. Stay tuned for even more music next year, with more focus in a particular direction. ↗️

Entelechy

Translated literally, the title of this track means "Without hurry, without pause", which can be generally thought of as "Slowly but surely". It's a good philosophy for approaching anything difficult, whether it's career goals, developing a skill, or just journeying through this crazy thing called life. Y'know, small things will make a large pile, it's turtles all the way down, and all that jazz. 🐢

I dunno what genre this is, but I know it's definitely not deep house. 🏚️

I started out intending to make a track that sounded like Jaytech... but ended up with something completely different. More experimentation with quirky bassy sounds and some playful electric piano chords... with healthy servings of blips and blops and oohs and aahs. Almost like a fun little electronic band jamming live. 🕰️

Fade Into Bushes

I made this over the tail end of "hot vax summer"... a friend described the sounds in this track as "clear, purposeful, ordered quirky confusion", which I'm fond of (@_@). I did play with the arrangement a bit more than usual here (hence the five-minute length). There are parts that are intended to be more atmospheric and spooky (happy halloween!), parts that are more glitchy wavy dark groove, and parts that are more dancey trancey driving beat. Enjoy! 🌋

Pent Up Demand

I really tried to go harder on this track and make something dancey, gritty, and epic sounding. Enjoy the gnarly bass synths, psychedelic noises, and enveloping voices layering upon each other. The track title is a palindrome but don't read too much into it; I just wanted to evoke a sharp-edged fractal-ized vibe. 🏹
