I produced different parts of this album in San Francisco, San Diego, and New York, while biding time during the pandemic. Like an interesting trip, it starts out strong, energetic, and bright, then takes a contemplative and experimental / darker turn. By the end, it settles into a peaceful and satisfying close. Ultimately, for me, this album was about movement, change, and flow. 〰️

Aural Dynamics

Inspired by multiple genres, I layered a bunch of trance stabs on top of a glitchy electrohouse beat, and had fun manipulating some vocal clips. Turns out when you reverse the word "robots", it kind of sounds like "stop war"... [┐∵]┘

Knobs 'n' Stuff

I made this while staying near the beach in La Jolla, California. I tried to have the electric piano shine in the first section, followed by the strings in the middle, followed by the pitch-bendy synth in the denouement. Let the flow of the music take you places. 〰〰

Escape Velocity

Imagine: A team of intrepid explorers discovers an ancient mechanical creature, buried deep within the bowels of the planet. As the assemblage of gears and cogs powers up for the first time in centuries, it begins to... dance!? \[o.o]/

Tritone Paradox

Subtle sounds bubble to the surface throughout this track, giving it a curious and eerie feel. ⨀

Half Life

I started by crafting the growly wubzy bass sounds... pretty soon I had a simple melody and some plucky piano notes to accompany it. Everything else just flowed naturally from there, including the wavy fuzzy background synths and a hard-hitting beat. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Hard Bear Beat

I tried to give this track a rough texture and a smooth ambience at the same time... like a glowing amber sunset over a gritty urban landscape. I also had a bunch of fun playing with computer-y beep boop noises and transforming them into distorted electric guitar-like sounds. :::===C=o=)

JC++, a producer and DJ with Midwestern roots, was classically trained on piano, clarinet, and bass guitar. Now living in NYC and armed with a laptop and headphones, he plays with electronic music as a universal language that anyone can connect with.

His progressive house tracks create a fun mood in a range of spaces, from casual apartment hangs to dance floor parties. Layered vocals and intricate soundscapes turn his music into vibrant journeys, keeping the energy going with a whimsical touch.
