“Just a Boy” is a haunting indie-blues track by Three Photons, crafted in response to a tragic local event. With raw vocals, analog warmth, and soulful instrumentation—including Jeff Roberts on bass and Andrew Borderick on B3 organ—the song captures the ache of senseless loss and the fragility of youth. Mixed with precision and emotional care, it stands as a sonic memorial: intimate, reflective, and deeply human.

This sad and devastating local story has been on my mind for a long time.... I'm reminded about this tragedy nearly everyday as I run along the Mississippi Blvd and see the memorial.

Dust All Over My Boots

Having a little fun with my new Nord Stage 3 - all sounds except the percussion are native to the Stage 3 (synth and organ engine). No sequencers were used, but I did enjoy using the pitch stick.

Thinking a bit about a Black Swan event as I produced this, the 1st half representing life as usual, the event as a synth "solo" and the altered reality afterwards. Towards the end I was inspired somewhat by the soundtrack to Dunkirk as the planes harass the troops on the beach and I have to admit that Vangelis Chariots of Fire was on my mind throughout the track although I skipped adding any piano.

A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences. Black swan events are characterized by their extreme rarity, severe impact, and the widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight. [according to Wikipedia]

I simply wanted to give off an impression that if one were to travel to another space and time dimension, one might see this Queen along with other foreign space beings..however, what makes them unique, is that they can morph according to your fantasty-out-of-this-world-like-infinite-desires...Of course they do come to life just to please you with a dance or simply a fine vision...in some cases, they can even make you feel! Im from Melbourne Australia, I have been playing guitar for many years now and played in two bands during the 80's & 90's (STOLEN CAR original) & (STORM cover),both bands never released any material. Since 2010 i have been writing songs and tunes and recording them in my music room (3rd Bedroom), i play Guitar, Bass, Keys, BFD2 Drums(programmed)and Vocals on all of my songs which i class as Demo's, I love all types of music but Hard Rock, Rock to Alternative appeals to me most.
