Music is colorful, diverse and vibrant as the butterflies. Almost 180,000 different species live in 127 families. The music by Boris Brejcha is like a "Feuerfalter" (copper). On one side the butterfly is relaxing and floating on the wind, but on the other hand he also sets with steam and fire to a fall into a low altitude. This is how it feels when Brejcha makes music.

The fourth album is exactly the description of this "Feuerfalter", a kind of backflash into the impressive career of Boris Brejcha. An album that deliberately shows how the artist works versatile. Times slightly floating, sometimes wild hitting the wing, always full of passion. The influences of his travelings and performances characterize his art again.

This creates a music that may be accompanied on Brejchas audience the whole day: at home, in a relaxed atmosphere or just at night, when the trip through the clubs starts. On the album "Feuerfalter" this individuality is turned on. Brejcha even picks up the desire of his ans to weave a few quieter tracks into his cosmos.

Each consecutive year, the renowned VIVa Warriors mix compilation showcases the finest offering of all things that the Warriors stand for. Now, it’s the turn of Greek born Alex Georgiadis aka Detlef, and British born Denney to masterfully weave an impeccable selection of dance floor certified tracks to the highest caliber.

Both Detlef and Denney are intrinsic to the VIVa family, holding residencies at the party’s spiritual home of Sankeys Ibiza, along with numerous releases via the VIVa MUSiC imprint. Detlef, first bursting onto the scene back in 2008 has formed an undisputed repertoire of groove ridden cuts and bass driven melodies, whilst Denney’s illustrious catalogue of releases such as the 2015 hit ‘Low Frequency’ have gained him international recognition as one of electronic music’s most sought after acts.

“VIVa Warriors is my first ever residency in Ibiza so to be asked to mix this years compilation for them in my first year is a great honour. A lot of work went into the mix and a massive thanks has to be said to all the artists who submitted tracks for it...there are some killers in there from some of my favourite artists!” - Denney

Detlef’s mesmeric fifteen-track selection captures the unparalleled sound and vision of VIVa Warriors, fusing together elegantly composed basslines from the likes of Hauswerks’ ‘I Feel Like Jammin’ with a deeper ambient production style provided by Bunte Bummler’s ‘Demo Cassette’. An offering of exquisite variety, Detlef elevates the true essence of VIVa Warriors selecting Robert James’ ‘House Invader’ along with Latmun’s ‘Who’s That’ where the crisp percussion and distorted vocal samples will echo out through sound systems of clubs and festivals across the globe.

Procuring the second mix on the compilation, Denney’s unquantifiable track choice travels through a host of contrasting house and techno subgenres. Opening the mix with Audiojack’s deep and bass laden ‘Elevate’, Denney continues to demonstrate his undeniable talent as DJ. Whether it be from performing at the white isles most infamous venues, or on his home turf in the UK, Denney’s musical prestige shines brightly through the compilation. A staggering selection of productions from house heavy beats from the likes of Jey Kurmis & Shannon’s ‘Wonadoodle’, to closing the compilation with the fittingly funk infused ‘So High Acid (Acid Dub), perfectly exhibiting why this fourth edition marks yet another milestone in the VIVa Warriors mix compilation series.

The unrelenting force that is Hot Creations often acts as a breeding ground for raw talent. This next release does just that with four ‘Hot Jams’ from upcoming artists Lee Walker, Pete Dorling, Neil Parkes and Greeko.

First up, young producer Lee Walker from Middlesbrough makes his debut on Hot Creations delivering ‘That Little Ditty’, which takes hold with a deeply intoxicating bassline, prominent hi-hats and punchy stabs that build to a frenzied climax. Shooting onto the scene in 2015 with his off-the-cuff edit of DJ Deeon’s ‘Freak Like Me’, which played by the likes of Marco Carola, Dixon and Loco Dice, soon gained over 1 million hits on Youtube and was finally picked up by Defected Records.

Having featured on ‘Hot Summer Jams’ on the label back in 2014, Essex DJ and producer Pete Dorling is back with another killer track. ‘Manyana’ drives with a heavy bassline as tribal vocal cuts are played throughout. Other releases can be seen on the likes of VIVa Music, Resonance Productions and NoFitState.

Also appearing on the same ‘Hot Summer Jams’, Neil Parkes is back on board the label with ‘Peil Narkes.’ A swinging bassline sets the groundwork as layers of moody synths roll out over punchy hats. Since his first release on Metroline Limited, Neil has spread his wings releasing on labels such as MadTech, Leftroom Limited and Underground Audio.

4th of September sees German DJ duo Drag & Drop offer up their debut EP for Mar-T’s renowned imprint, Wow! Recordings, entitled ‘Natura’.

Dynamic duo Drag & Drop first showcased their talents through a number of well received sets at German venues/festivals such as Cocoon Club, World Club Dome, Kater Holzi and at Frankfurt’s Tanzhaus West, where they still hold a residency.

Since then, they’ve bought their eclectic style of House, Techno and Dubstep (a sound they describe ‘Techstep’) to crowds in all corners of the world, also continuing to release several stellar productions on labels such as Draft Recordings and Monique Musique.

‘Techno Safari’ kicks off the release, a probing Tech-House track that combines a gorgeous percussive melody with edited vocals, glowing keys and numerous ‘safari’ inspired effects over its six minute duration.

Closing the EP is the title-named track, ‘Natura’, a deep-groover featuring hypnotic vocals, squelching synths and vibrant percussive elements that really shine during the track’s timely breakdown midway through.

‘Natura’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport on 4th of September and everywhere else two weeks later.

Great Stuff proudly presents volume fifteen of its “To The Underground” series. The series features solely exclusive tracks. Hand picked with only the dance floor in mind. Tracks that will work crowds and elevate DJ sets. 

To The Underground Vol. 15 gets moving with Lo Cutz’s “U See“. A bumpin’, muscular tech-house tune! It’s filled with tight low ends and saturated drums. The sturdy break-downs and chopped vocals make this dancefloor sure shot whole.

Up next is Juanito & Mute Okai’s “Pipes”. This stripped, bass hefty track is constructed around a simple yet tense bassline, playful percussion and spaced out synth layers! 

Matras is back with a house hymn! Old-school Chicago vibes meet cutting edge sounds production technics. Pitched vocal segments, sleek drums and a stomping groove make “Deep Inside House Muzik” a lot of fun! 

The focal point of Chris Hartwig’s “Sexy Witches” is its surging, funky tech-house groove and wall-shaking bassline that carry the raunchy sound structure wonderfully.

A thick, modern groove marches next to morphing and howling synthesised patterns, while pitched down vocal snippets keep things moody. Hubinek & Sperbel’s “A Great Depression” is an excellent late adventure!

Luigi Gori & Larsun Hesh are completing this superb stockpile of exciting electronic music. Their energetic “Uffle” tune features a crisp technotic groove. Warm pads are go nicely with filtered layers of madness and arpeggiated acid sounds. Handle this one with care!

In light of the remastered reissue of M.A.N.D.Y.'s classic track 'Jah', Get Physical (@get-physical-music)has tapped the always reliable Italian DJ and producer Flashmob (@flashmob-dj) to transform the material into an edgy and bumping dancefloor gem. 

Here Mixmag unveils the dub version of Flashmob's remix as a free download, which highlights the loopy synth riffs with gritty textures and driving percussion. A track undoubtedly worthy of a peak time DJ set.
