This moody song draft is a happy accident of sorts. A blocs wave loop that I produced in the winter and a late night recording of this haunting melody in early spring came together last night when I was air dropping loop projects and vocal drafts to my new MacBook. I don't even remember recording the vocal, y'all. But when I heard the *plink plink* I knew which loop I'd been singing over. This isn't finished, but it feels good.

Homegrown beat and simple vocals on this draft about putting in that late night call to your love, your crush, or your sneaky link. Cringe, I know. Anyway lol I have ideas for layering vocals, but wanted to offer this straightforward arrangement. As before, I used Blocs Wave on my iPad, my Pixel 6, and Garageband on my MacBook to record. Started at 123 bpm and slowed it down to 103.

Raw rehearsal recording of "Crush Pt. 1" before the 2025 Detroit Juneteenth Music Festival. 06/17/25. Because of the rain, we didn't get to do it, so this recording is especially sweet to have. Haven't sung this song in YEARS. My vocals were kinda ashy, pitch funky, but it felt good.

Bluesy, gospel-tinged, improvised secular spiritual sourced from an April 2024 voice note on my phone. Title is self-explanatory. Expect voice note quality recordings with hiccups. This track is the beginning of what I'm thinking of as the Voice Notes Series. I'm emptying out one take songs, poems, verbal essays, straight from the voice recorder app via my Pixel 9 Pro. I need more ideas out in the world that can't do anybody any good on my phone. Transcriptions may be included in different formats.
