If you've heard me talk about "Nustep" or how "We're currently experiencing the second coming of dubstep"... How "140 finally remembered it's for dancefloors"... And how a sudden migration of ex-house producers has reintroduced energy into our genre"...
My next mix is here to answer all of your questions.
But first let me rant, for those of you haven't heard me go on recently... For us bass music folks, at least here in the Bay Area, what has happened to our dancefloors??? Leave that as a rhetorical please, because at this point I've heard all the answers.
All I want to know is how we're going to fix it... And...
This new era of 140 gives me hope. It remembers that we're out here making Dance Music. That we can be half time and still driving. That we can have extreme bass sounds yet still remain civilized, cultured, and funky as hell. Remember that 2009 feeling?
I'm calling it Nustep but, we will see what sticks.
Gonna have a very limited run of 25 vinyl topped CDs with this new mix on em for an "any donation works" price tag. Gonna get cases and album art printed for em so they're nice to match the CD itself. Each comes with a secret sticker to boot. Hoping with this I can kickstart some more stickers and collector sort of things.
Catch them first out at Stilldream, I'll have them with my after my Singe set for anyone trying to swoop. After I've rid myself of all 25 CD's I'll wait a week to put the mix online for the rest of you. Sort of like an NFT, but pronounced "Neat F-ckin Trick".

Stella'd (16 Homage)

Feedback ambience. Seed is Telharmonic fed notes and gates from René, through Optomix, into a Zed 10FX mixer, fx looped through ErbeVerb to drone it up. Tweaked the frequency resonances with the Telharmonic centroid, and the swept mid EQ on the mixer. Added a little A&H flanger and an Ampex tape simulation to make it sound a little grungier.
