Empty Hell is the second EP from Osheyack for SVBKVLT, containing 3 original tracks plus remixes from KABLAM and Via App. The release was inspired by a text written by Jordan Tierney, and features artwork by Dre Romero. A limited edition, long sleeved shirt featuring the artwork and a back patch with the text will coincide with the release.

“This EP was made after I realised that what inspired me most was to combine my love of electronic music with the music I enjoy outside of the club. I decided to collaborate with friends from a couple of my favourite bands, including Fay Milton (Savages) who provides live drums on Motorik Bush Doof Musik and Taigen Kawabe (Bo Ningen) who performs on I Never Cared That Much For Jungle. For me, having live instrumentation on the EP adds an extra depth to the tracks & has given me a vision of how to I’d like future releases to sound. 

My fave track off the EP, Growing Up With Muscle Cars, is an homage to my step dad who repairs and restores old muscle cars. He also used to take me to the drags in my hometown when I was little. We would push the race cars out onto the track. Some of my favourite memz as a lil kid.”

I Never Cared Too Much For Jungle

Handjerks is the musical project of Julian Bauer, a half-Norwegian, half-German Berliner whose formal background is not in music but rather in film, literature, philosophy and Scandinavian studies. "Synonym Dance" is their new single, taken from last year's Indexical 12″ EP, paired with a thunderous new remix by Swan Meat, an American producer/musician who moved to Berlin earlier this year. Bauer describes the tune as "an attempt to speak about something that is unspeakable. It’s not only a song about the lack of language but also about using unrelated concepts as synonyms – to create relations and experiment with an affective language. So I understand the synonym dance as a celebration of failure. A resistant dance track." The original version was rendered into HD by producer Sam Slater (known for his work with Jóhann Jóhannsson, Shapednoise and Boiler Room). 

In her revision, Swan Meat uses Bauer's voice as one ingredient in a sonic collage, starting out calmly and building up to a final-boss battle with a Thesaurus Rex. "When it comes to remixes, I tend to go all-in and write a new, parallel-dimension version of the track," says the artist, also known as Reba Fay, of her approach. "I had so much fun with this one, because there was so much to work with. Two major influences were my having recently gone to a few techno raves in Cologne with these 'underwater crunchy' soundsystems, as well as the hi-fi 8-bit aesthetic of retro revival games like Shovel Knight. I've struggled to find a place for these kind of sounds in my own music, so I'm really glad to have been able to use them here."

"Synonym Dance" is the second single by Handjerks, following "On a Verge", whose video was premiered by Out Magazine.

Bad Zu was created three years ago and remained a well kept secret of Moscow underground until it got signed to Berlin's finest Through My Speakers label. Soon after Bad Zu played more shows in Berlin than in Russia for a while, but eventually Moscow rave crowds started to fall in love with the fusion of African traditional music and grime and the band played huge shows for thousands of party and festival people before they were even present on the social media. More releases followed via Through My Speakers and #internetghetto.

"Zupreme" is the first full length album by Bad Zu. It elaborates and develops the extravert "Ritual Rave", where the audience and their state of consciousness are always in the focus, rather than the creator of the music and his thoughts. 10 tracks for dancing and sex, infused and mixed with our reality: from fake brands and darknet, to being beaten up for the wrong look in the club.
