PHILLY's official sophomore effort following 2021’s BEHOLDER. The beats showcased on this project were conceived partly during my remaining tenure as a PhD student in Pittsburgh, while others were completed more recently as a new Bay Area resident. These beats represent my insatiable need to keep creating and developing my craft. 

The title “out the woods” is in reference to the old philosophical riddle, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” Similarly, can I call my music art if I never allow anyone to hear it? The title simply means that I’ve very well fallen a tree, but this tree is out of the woods and for all to see.

This work is also being released on the eve of my 30th birthday, which personally makes it feel more impactful. I hope that you enjoy listening as much I enjoyed finishing this project.
