Masterful lead cut ‘Hold The Door’ is a simmering deep dusk trip that really draws the listener into its dark recess before giving light through beautiful rising synth lines.‘Bums Of Dharma’ follows more of a straight 4/4 dance-floor path with the addictive arp motif and compelling percussive groove given added drama by tasteful breakdowns and crisp punchy beats. Paul Anthonee returns to Tash's Movement Recordings for his debut EP entitled 'Cheveux Roux'. Hailing from Cyprus, Paul is making his third appearance on the respected Greek imprint, following remixes in 2017 and 2018, both of which earned critical and commercial success. Recent releases for Beatfreak Recordings and Suara have solidified Paul's place amongst the electronic music elite, ultimately leading him back to Movement for his first original project alongside remixes from Ran Salman and BLANCAh. 

Beginning with the groovy, cutting edge sounds of the title cut it's clear Paul has crafted some of his best ever work. Fresh and dramatic across it's near nine minute journey, it's a sensory delight full of great dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, spacey arps add a cosmic vibe, before eventually melting down into a break of mallet-like clusters and symphonic overlays. Building subtly, the beauty lies in the drop, classy in execution and undeniably groovy with rolling rhythmic qualities, no doubt set for a massive reaction on the dance floor. The companion piece 'Nemesis' comes with a deeper and more introspective approach. Warm, punchy beats and tranquil lines set an emotive mood early, with smooth chord changes only adding to it's poignant charm. The main break furthers the grandiose appeal, as sheets of warm overlays and clattering electronics unite, resulting in a one minute stretch of sonic bliss. 

The lone interpretation of 'Cheveux Roux' is provided by Ran Salman who returns to the label for his second appearance. To much acclaim, the Israeli artist made his Movement debut in May of 2017 with a remix of Natural Flow's 'Floating'. Subsequent releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden , Bog's Atlant Recordings and DJ Zombi's Beat Boutique further solidified Ran's place amongst the industry's most creative talents. Now landing back on Movement he delivers a stunning rendition of 'Cheveux Roux'. Opting for a distinctly modern approach, Ran reshapes the groove into waves of rippling bass. Dynamic drum fills coupled with organic percussion and crunchy electronics set the stage for a clever take on the lead theme. Cross-cultural in feel, it shifts energy into a section of tripped out designs and wonky modulation, before a third act of striking tonal themes seals it's brilliance. 

The release concludes with BLANCAh making her label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Nemesis'. As one of Brazil's most recognized electronic music artists, BLANCAh has found a home on Steyoyoke, Timeless Moment and Warung Recordings. Now making her much anticipated Movement Recordings debut, she takes 'Nemesis' into peak time territory with great results. Fluid and groovy in equal measure, it's a mix that drifts away from the emotive themes in the original, while adding a pensive vibe through unique sonic artefacts and ethereal hooks. Void of a traditional break, it's a nod to BLANCAh's keen sense of dance floor dynamics, with tension and anticipation coming in waves across it's concise seven minute running time. A brilliant rendition from the much loved Brazilian artist, rounding out another stunning offering from Tash's Movement Recordings.

Ahmad aka. Quatri has developed into one of the most promising young artists in this industry. It is a truly wonderful thing, to find a raw diamond, that is open to listen and focus on the sound you try to help form through words and references. Starting from day one back in 2017, Ahmad was paying attention to all these words, understanding and creating his own idea of the sound we asked for. We are now at a point, where Quatri has not only listened, but immensely guided the sound of Nie Wieder Schlafen. A special bond, that will continue to grow and evolve. 

"Fjara" gives a good picture of how far Quatri and Nie Wieder Schlafen have come. And don't you dare think we have reached our goals - we have still so much to explore. "Leviathan" is a production, that tells the story of the sounds we have gone through the last months. A production bringing together the different moods, that continue to fascinte us. A tammed beast - smooth yet dangerous, elegant yet rough :  A sound with an undefined emotion - a feeling of excitement and mystery, balanced between the dark and the bright. Enjoy.

In Greek mythology, Icarus and Daedalus myth stands to represent man's ability to push himself to the limits, trying to achieve what was once thought as impossible. 

Daedalus was a brilliant mind and found work in Crete as an architect ruled then by King Minos. He fell in love with Naucrate and they had a child whom they named Icarus. 
At some point, King Minos asked Daedalus to build a labyrinth for the Minotaur so he wouldn't escape and be hidden from everyone. 
He then kept Daedalus and Icarus prisoners in a high tower in Crete so they wouldn't reveal the secret of the labyrinth to anyone. 

Considering their options to escape, it turned out the only way was by air. Deadalus conceived two pairs of wings with feathers he had gathered over time. He warned his son not to fly too close to the sun or sea. Icarus flew next to the sun and the wax holding the feathers together melted. He fell down into the sea and drowned. A little caution and some patience is necessary to achieve great things and we think the whole process of this EP describes just this. 

After releasing a few singles on Anomaly Music Collective and Lump Records, Samaha crafted the Icarus EP over the past year and makes his debut on Art Vibes. With four original tracks, we aim at showcasing this promising producer from Seattle, USA. Coming from a trance background, Anthony has now shifted to the ethnic and worldly beats of house and techno. 

‘Icarus', the main track of the EP is a solid progressive house collaboration with french duo Pandhora. Elaborate chord progressions and crafted chopped vocals blend with the delicate ethnic percussions and the gliding deep bass. 

‘Sultan and the Scarab' showcases Samaha's trance background while presenting a lovely ethnic touch. In one ear, a booming royal horn synth to represent the Sultan, and in the other, a playful guitar to represent the Scarab. Combined with powerful drums, this will make any crowd dance through the night. 
Going further into Anthony's world, third track 'Asabiyyah' is a hypnotic electronic tale built up from trippy vocals and crazy arpeggios. 

To finish off this EP on the right note, ‘Vendetta' echoes to ‘Icarus' as it presents the same vocal arranged differently in the background of the track. Samaha demonstrates once again his ability to compose unique melodies that stick to the ears. 

For this EP, we are gifted with talented remixers who proposed an alternative to the original tracks, in their own refined styles. Spanish violonist and producer Alvaro Suarez as well as Scorpios Mykonos resident Lannka produced their own version of ‘The Sultan and The Scarab' while Gardens of Babylon's Vander worked on a psychedelic and deep version of ‘Asabiyyah'.

Mit diesem Gedanken im Hinterkopf überrascht es nicht, dass der Sound von She Knows mit ihren 10 bpm weniger sich spürbar von der einheitlichen Clubmusik abhebt. Sobald die tanzende Person sich die Zeit zugesteht, wirklich zuzuhören und sich vollständig in Teresa Tomás‘ weiche und doch kraftvolle Stimme und in die schmelzenden Klänge von Marcel Dadaltos
Synthesizern fallen zu lassen, wird die perfekte Grundlage für das geschaffen, was nicht anders als „Die Magie der Tanzfläche“ zu beschreiben ist.
Die spanische Sängerin und der aus Brasilien stammende Produzent lernten sich im Jahr 2014 kennen und beschlossen bald darauf, ihren ganz eigenen Klang zu kreieren: ein Hybrid aus 90ies Art Pop und moderner elektronischer Tanzmusik, der hier und da eine Idee ihrer beider musikalischer Wurzeln durchblicken lässt. Dabei ist es She Knows Credo, die Spontanität und den Funken des Moments in ihre Musik einfließen zu lassen, ganz so wie sie es bei ihren Jamsessions erleben. Und so überrascht es nicht, dass sich dieser einzigartige Klang schnell europaweit herumsprach. In den vergangenen Sommern hypnotisierten She Knows mit ihrem Liveact das Publikum in den bekanntesten Clubs Berlins wie dem about:blank, der Rummelsbucht, dem Kater Blau, der Ritter Butzke, dem Yaam und auf der Wildne Möhre, der Fusion und dem Garbicz Festival.
Es gibt wohl kaum einen Ort als das weithin bekannte Bar 25 Label, auf dem ihre EP „Distorted Images“ besser aufgehoben wäre. Einer der Tracks der EP, „Thalassa“, erschien bereits auf der zweiten „Zeitgeist“ Compilation des Labels.
Sicher ist, dass dieses Duo noch viele Menschen in seinen Bann ziehen wird – vor allem, wenn ihnen dieses extra Quäntchen an Zeit zugestanden wird, das die guten Dinge erst richtig besonders macht.
