ONNO has evolved from a bedroom DJ in Holland to playing some of Berlin's finest clubs including Panorama Bar and Watergate, whilst also releasing on a plethora of labels including Viva, Get Physical and Moon Harbour. Meanwhile, Per Hammar has been building a following with his Dirty Hands and 10Years labels when not appearing on Danse Club Records, Extravaganza and Avotre. With such impressive backgrounds, it is easy to see why label heading duo Los Pastores chose ONNO & Per Hammar for the next release in the Oblack Digital Series.

Opening with the release's title track, we are instantly hit by swinging percussion on top of a grooved low- end, otherworldly synths and the occasional transitional vocal lick. Frankfurt’s Chris Wood provides the first remix, gripping motifs and warped samples give the track an intense energy before Beste Modus co-owner Diego Krause’s crunching drums and distorted bass give his take on ‘Mad Palace’ a murky feel.

ONNO & Per Hammar’s ‘Restored Muse’ offers a more dubbed out atmosphere with subtly complex percussive rhythms, captivating variations and delayed chords echoing throughout until Los Pastores transform the track into a powerful dancefloor cut with weighted bass tones and mesmerising risers which underpin the synthesised oddities from the original.

Seb Zito rolls out a trio of hopscotch belters for Eats Everything’s Edible imprint.  Having ruffled the ears and sent the Edible A&R toes tapping with recent releases for Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It and Enzo Siragusa’s FUSE London label, the call up was made, and the resulting Twenty.2 EP is stuffed full of infectious beats and bang tidy licks.

Zito wastes no time in getting to the very essence of a track; no gimmicks or frills are required as the London based DJ/producer chisels out spongy synths and bouncing beats on ‘Slap Dash’, skippy & trippy garage flavours on ‘Bit Of Skip’ and bumping futuristic house vibes on ‘Haphazard’, reminiscent of that Chicago don, Spencer Kincy AKA Gemini.

Rich NxT heads to FUSE to deliver his ‘Suburban Skool’ EP this November, backed by fellow London favourite East End Dubs on remix duties.

An artist that has remained a central part of the London electronic music scene for over a decade, FUSE residentand NxT records boss Rich NxT is an artist that embodies the sound of the city’s evolution throughout the years, taking influences from all pockets of the scene - from drum’n‘bass and jungle through to the minimal and tech house sounds that later took hold of the blossoming after-hours circuit. Having touched down on the label earlier this year alongside East End Dubs as the pairing released the impressive ‘The Four Slip’ EP, whilst also recently providing two collaborative cuts on label boss Siragusa’s latest ‘A Decade Of Rave’ LP project, November sees Rich return to home turf to deliver his second solo EP on the label of the year, with Eastenderz head East End Dubs also returning to provide an energy-fueled remix on the flip.

Opening proceedings, title track ‘Suburban Skool’ offers up a trademark slice of rolling house music as slick percussion arrangements meet bumping bass stabs and scintillating electronic melodies swirl around old school rave samples, whilst the slinking ‘Rex Press’ keeps the energy high as echoed vocals ebb and flow amongst bright lead lines, crisp drum licks, intriguing breakdowns and builds throughout. Shaping up the package, East End Dubs steps up to offer up a dynamic interpretation of ‘Rex Press’, utilising punchy kicks alongside soaring synth lines and driving snare rolls to impressive effect.
