This is music without development, where nothing much happens (or rather: the happening is evenly distributed throughout). Three years after his last studio album, Orson Hentschel returns with a multi-outputted visual album. Heavy Light, the title of his fourth album project, consists of three parts - a 3-channel film installation, a visual live-performance and the album itself. Hentschel expands the format of the conventional album to an audiovisual experience by merging elements of film, dance and music in a synthesis of arts. The project evolved in the time of Corona, which first affected him visually when the city (Berlin) turned into a ghost town during the first lockdown. Light became the most vibrant element in the city, which influenced both picture and sound. Metallic, sometimes harsh and electrifying, surroundings of the urban life are landscaped into eclectic pulses.

Following on from releasing on the various artists compilation on 3024 - “It Was Always There Vol 1”, Planète returns with a long awaited 4 track exploring new territories and sound landscapes.

Shuffling away from straight grooves of earlier muses, Planète takes time to explore the irregular pulses of broken beat rhythms whilst maintaining introspective colour on this new EP. Central to the messages in his explorations, "Eternal Now" represents a reconfiguration of sonic interpretation and reflection.

Opener 'Stony Creek Reserve' rattles and throbs, consuming a poly-rhythmic bass bedrock and dubbed stabs with crisp and glitched crackles whilst 'Passing Through' lightens the deep with a skipping kick drum and memorable percussion melodies guided by an anchored bass hit.

On the flip, echoing and spooky wooden hits fill the terrain whilst stark bass movements in 'Meteor' rain and mutate a broken techno groove. Closing up, allowing the energy to release, 'Eternal Now' gives rise to vast space in reverberated strikes and wobbled stabs under the hood of slow thuds and thin hisses.

This return shows versatility and growth in sonic descriptions, edging towards a bridge of found sounds and clinical club music. His latest contribution shows the breadth and current appetite for bass centric curations and meticulous high frequency attention refining his signature for evolving storytelling.

“Signal" is the new album by renowned electronic music artist Brendon Moeller. Known for his innovative fusion of ambient sounds, Moeller once again pushes the boundaries of the genre with swirling, organic forms and immersive textures grounded in the dark, moody tones of deep techno and dub. What results are the sounds of melodic, fluttering synths set to low, steady beats, all of which seem to playfully dance through some kind of cosmic aural nebula.

Brendon grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, he learned piano and drums, finding particular inspiration in the music of artists such as Fela Kuti, My Bloody Valentine, De La Soul and Kraftwerk. However, it was not until 1993, when Brendon moved to New York City, that his own individual style began to develop. With NYC as his base, he has worked with several prominent labels and collaborated with artists like Mikey Dread, Speedy J, Mutabaruka and MATRiXXMAN.

With dozens of EPs, singles and albums to his name, Brendon’s love for experimenting with sound has created an endless source of inspiration to continuously self-reflect and advance his music. Brendon is consistently striving to reinvent himself and skillfully influence the dub scene in the process.

Jean-Yves Leloup is a Paris-based french sound artist/musician, curator, teacher and writer, specialized in music, sound, art and electronic music. As a musician and sound artist, he is also known as the co-founder of the RadioMentale duo and the founder of the collective project, Quiet Voices. He is the curator of various musical exhibitions (Disco at Paris Philharmonie, Electro at Paris Philharmonie, London Design Museum and Düsseldorf Kunst Palast) and the author of various books about music (Digital Magma, Global Techno, Techno 100, Ambient Music, Music Non-Stop…). He has worked as a sound-designer for cinema, teaches sound in cinema at Paris Esra cinema School, and has released four albums with the RadioMentale duo.
