Outplay was founded in 2012 by Dutch producer duo Fouk, otherwise known as Daniel Leseman & Junktion.  The label focuses on the deeper side of house and for their next release it’s a three track affair by the elusive and ever so mysterious Clive from accounts.
 
Number cruncher extra-ordinaire by day, brilliant music producer by night, Outplay are pretty amped to release this EP by the self proclaimed “regional tiddlywinks champion” and “all-round beige sky thinker” Clive.  Who says office workers are drones? Loitering around the coffee machine surely has had no bad effect on his creative juices.  
 
Clive first sent in a one track demo of “Bisou” and the label was blown away by the top notch production quality, feeling that it really stood out from anything else in their inbox.  Over the course of a year Outplay asked Clive to fill out an EP.  The end result is a record with three very strong tracks, each with its own character.  “Keep Movin” is perfect for big dance floors and filthy sweaty clubs.  The title track “The Trouble With Clive” has that big beefy garage effect going on.  The EP closes out with “Bisou” - a floaty warm stabby breaks affair with nods to the classic deep house sound.   Oh ….and I’m supposed to tell you that it’s Hawaiian shirt day on Friday!

Nerang Recordings returns with ‘Freaky Friends Volume 1’ featuring the likes of P.Leone, Nasty King Kurl, Sentient State, Ole Mic Odd, Dj Swagger, and Main Phase.

The Berlin-based label has been going strong since its founder - Australian DJ and producer Dj Whipr Snipr - launched it in 2016, with recent genre-spanning releases traversing acid, house, breaks, and electro from artists such as DJ Bowlcut, Low Tape, Soela, Subjoi, Interplanetary Criminal, J.Albert, DJ Safeword, Anthony Fade, and many more. Nerang now invites six quality artists for its most ambitious release yet to inaugurate the imprint’s ‘Freaky Friends’ series.

E-Missions founder and Rekids regular P.Leone leads the way with a thudding breaks number called ‘Parting Currents’. A rumbling bassline is later joined by lush pads and a hammering piano melody destined to rocket listeners into new heights. Following appearances on 777 Recordings and Low Income Squad, Nasty King Kurl is next with a raw sounding ‘Lawless’ - a syncopated cut that blends acid and electro with Memphis rap and R&B.
In fine form off the back of releasing on Hilltown Disco and 99cts RCRDS, Nerang veteran Ole Mic Odd brings a sweaty Ghetto House stomper named ‘Hydro Anthem’ complete with a gritty acid bassline and Pointdexter-esque chopped vocals, making way for Sentient State’s ‘4 Tha Freaks’ which exhibits the New York-based artist’s softer side as he layers lush pads on top of a stripped back electro rhythm for pure euphoria.

With releases on Natural Sciences, Who’s Susan and E-Beamz, Germany-based producer Dj Swagger ups the energy, clocking in with the compilation’s fastest track in a bouncing Chicago House inspired cut entitled ‘The Phone Talky’. Tying it all together, Warehouse Raves and ec2a artist Main Phase’s ‘Get Higher’ is a punchy UK garage track complete with thudding 909 kicks, purring bass, fluttering vocals and rave stabs.

 Revolutionary DJ and producer Matador presents his exciting debut release for Hot Creations Wildside this July. It features two contrasting tracks that stay true to the ethos of the label synonymous with White Isle hedonism.

Wildside opens with spirited percussion of shakers and snare rolls, reverberating into a fuzzy and infectious bassline groove. The playful sample is looped over crazy effects and bright keys, before dropping into a final crescendo that will have feet stomping in unison. Sweet Release retains a classic deep house sound with dreamy chords and lush synth. The track develops with warm sub-bass, piano, arpeggiation and soulful vocals, resulting in a summertime anthem.

Matador has made his mark on the electronic music world since the very beginning, producing a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, becoming a brand ambassador for MODEL 1 and featuring in Resident Advisor’s ‘Top 20 Live Acts’ for three years in the early part of his career. In 2016 he launched his label RUKUS, releasing music from emerging and established artists alike. Spanning genres and formats he has made music for Sky TV and British Airways, his vinyl-only series Cyclone is firmly rooted in techno, whilst the stream only album Tuesday presents an exquisite take on ambient. His collaboration with Zurich’s Tonhalle Orchestra again highlighted his dexterity as a truly authentic musician. 2020 sees the launch of Matador’s podcast series focusing on studio gear and featuring interviews with touring artists. His new live performance ‘Live 2.0’ is also forthcoming and will feature hotly anticipated new music.

While on a recent holiday in Germany Christian managed to sneak away from his family a few times and make two tracks with Eric Sneo. "Line of Descent" is an E-Dancer Detroit inspired melodic affair. Lush strings, analog synths, and a phat bassline carry this track forward. "Ride The Waves" is a relentless, shuffled peak time track. Chicago legend DJ Rush was on the vocals while Christian and Eric built an infective groove around it.
