From the new Sebastian Mullaert EP released on Josh Wink's OVUM Recordings on June 30, 2014.
I made Chant de Paris the day before my first solo live show at the club showcase in Paris, hence the name for the track and EP.

Over the last 17 years, Sebastian Mullaert has had a long and distinguished career as one half of hardware experimentalist duo Minilogue, with releases on Cocoon, Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels. Now opting to focus more on solo endeavors, he hits the ground running with his sublime Ovum debut. Clocking in at a hefty 16 minutes in length, the title track is a heady excursion which flirts with reverb-drenched ouds and meandering keyboard scales, conveying an air of Arabic mystique. An array of acidic synths move in and out of focus, whilst skittering hi-hats and ride cymbals slowly build upon rafts of kinetic energy, all programmed with a deft, organic touch.In an impressive display of versatility, Mullaert promptly flips the vibe from Berlin basement to Ibiza sunset with Recapturing the Radical Self. It starts off similarly enough, with brooding 303 squelches and sharp claps, but slowly ascends into a state of full-on Balearic bliss. This EP is the second solo digital EP on my label Perle Dischi.

All the tracks were written spontaneously, at different times apart from each other.

Some stayed in the drawer for a few months, others for years.

Finally they see the light and I hope that, like they did for me, they will evoke feelings in you too.

After his excellent Scenario#5 release in 2016, followed by a Remix E.P. incl. Remixes by DJ Deep, Janeret and label head Sebo K, DJ Honesty is back on the label with a super strong 4 track E.P..
The opener „Joao’s Groove“ is a chord driven track featuring warm string samples causing a subtle dramatic vibe. On the A2 track „Limbo“ Honesty combines straight forward pushing drums with slightly modulated melancholic pads and shy arpeggios.
„Turn The Track“ beginns the flipside with a moody atmosphere and trippy grooves before the final track „Yambu“ rounds up the E.P. with a heavy Bassline, lots of tape delay and deep dubbed out chords.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Terry Riley and Steve Reich, "Nodus tollens" transcends the confines of dance music dogma, instead focusing on natural, free-form rhythms, meditative and healing frequencies, intertwined with spacial textures and soothing psychedelia.
Questioning the linear nature of time, each composition is guiding us through whirling soundscapes, DMT realms and timeloops, to a safe space where we can explore within.

Being part of the city's ever-evolving music scene, I’ve had the privilege of being a regular selector at venues like The Kazimier Garden, The Wind Factory, Egg Café, Kitchen Street, Constellations (RIP), Camp and Furnace, The magnet, The Shipping Forecast, Attic, Café Tabac, and Reeds.
