really cool pitch-shifting chorusey things in the chord progression instruments.  I like how the guitar is more organic as well as the glockenspiel type sound.  Always gotta find a good rubber chicken player too, a dying breed in this era. :)

This is so fun and creative. You can really hear the spirit of exploration and adventure in this. Great job with Simpler and bringing everyday objects to life!

Today's prompt was 8-bit, baby!
It kinda reminds me of some game, but any game from the 8-bit era probably had a tune that was something like this in some part of the game.

8. Distress Call Aboard HMSS Scimitar

Didn't feel like following the JAMuary prompt (make something 8-bit), especially as I needed to get the music done by 8:30 AM so I'd have time to go to a morning meeting and presentation. Not too much to say about this one! I started off with a completely generic techno beat, which unsurprisingly led me into an uninspired, generic bass line. I kept the presets but started over with the pad instead, which somehow inspired a more creative beat. And it developed from there. Eighth day of new jams in a row!

Pretty time-crunched because of the presentation so I only had one shot at the videos and live arrangement, so a couple things didn't go as expected. Usually when I make these, I have one false start, then a performance that goes okay, then a second one where I apply the ideas and avoid the mistakes from the first. None of that today so you get to hear me searching for a breakdown! 🤣
