This song has been inspired by frequent visits to the Dutch North Sea coast, its beach and the beach clubs and tries to capture the very special atmosphere there.

LINER NOTES

One of the greatest changes in music that has happened to me and others, can also be the most depressing. Social media can be the biggest ego boost, or a really huge disappointment when something you’ve worked your nuts off on, gets very little attention. On the other hand, I’ve met a whole range of folk that I would never normally have come into contact with. Georg, from Germany, who plays on this track, has been a fantastic supporter of what I do over the years. He only formally introduced himself to me a few months back and offered me his services as a sax player. My first thoughts were ‘Oh no, what if he sucks!!??’. And then I thought ‘At least give him a go!’, and so I did. And I’m jolly pleased I did, as he is awesome. This is the real pay off for me, when social media really does become social. I’ve got to get him playing harmonica on something soon. Please see the links below to his own projects.

This song is mostly about a family member, who suffered from Alzheimer's. It was often really easy to misinterpret her behaviour as a kind of cruelty. Everything is always so much clearer in retrospect!
